Magician Jim Combs and the Combs Family Magic of South Jersey Magic provides the best in children and family magic show entertainment for any occasion. From social events, corporate events, retirement home magic shows, daycare and school magic shows and birthday party magic shows. A South Jersey Magic show is exciting and fun. Both children and adults find the show show funny and amazing. The shows include classic magic effects, comedy magic routines, stage illusions and mentaliism (for older children and adults). For most audiences sometimes the best part of a magic show is the fun and comedy. From the beginning to the very end, my show is loaded with funny props and full of laughs for children as well as adults.

South Jersey Magic is based in Mullica Hill, New Jersey and performs magic shows for preschool, kindergarten, elementary school & daycares, children’s birthday parties, Weddings, social events, retirement homes, & corporate events throughout the New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware. In the South Jersey and the Delaware Valley areas I perform in the following counties: Gloucester, Salem, Cumberland, Camden, Cape May, Burlington, Atlantic, Philadelphia, Delaware, Chester and New Castle.

About Jim Combs: At the age of 12 I began to learn magic and perform magic shows in my basement for friends and neighborhood children. Then I my late teens I left magic for music eventually leading to performances in several local and traveling bands as well as stage shows including Jesus Christ Superstar and The Wiz. Years passed without any involvement in magic until my son wanted a magician for his 5th birthday party. So I relearned some old magic effects and learned some new ones. During the show I had my son and daughter perform as assistants for several effects and they both caught the magic bug and now they have show with me and of their own.

I have developed several magic and mentalism shows and one show also includes my children. I perform solo and with my children The Combs Family Magic Show all over South Jersey and the Delaware Valley.

About My Daycare/Preschool Children's Magic: This show is a 45 or 60 minute show. The show is a little slower in pace for younger children ages 3 to 5 years. I have included several effects that include basic numbers, alphabet letters and animal recognition as well as a few stage stage illusions. Although my children shows are very funny and silly, I take performing magic for children very seriously. The responsibility of a children’s entertainer is to be encouraging, be aware of the children’s unique personality, build up their self-esteem and leave a positive lasting impression. In my show it doesn't matter if a child is shy or outgoing they have fun and can interact as they choose. This show may be 45 or 60 minutes in length.

Children's Birthday/Small Event Magic Show: This show is designed and scripted to entertain children from the ages of 3 to 10 years of age although all ages find the show entertaining. The show is fun, silly at times and very interactive. All the children take part in the show. The birthday child may stand by my side during t he show and assist or stay in the audience and assist as well. I do not use live animals but I do produce a stuffed toy rabbit at the close of the show. The show may be 45 or 60 minutes in length.

About My Senior Community Magic Show: The Senior's Magic Show is a relaxed paced comedy magic program. The music behind the show is 1950s instrumentals such as; Caravan, Moon Glow, Sleep Walk, Hot Toddy and Whispering. I use effects that are very colorful such as color changing silks and color changing feather wreaths as well as classic effects such as pulling eggs, silks, flowers and a glass of milk from an empty hat. I also use a few one liners from the vaudeville era as well as Milton Berle and Henny Youngman. During this show I perform a small routine that is a homage to the Great Carl Ballantine. Carl was mostly known for his roll in 1960s TV series McHale's Navy but he was also the first magician to play in Las Vegas and was known by magicians as the father of comedy magic. This show may be 45 or 60 minutes in length.

About My Mentalism Show: From the first few bars of my intro music "Focus" by Hocus Pocus you know my mental magic "Mentalism" show will be different. From my original prediction routines such as "Name That Tune" and "Beach Ball Bingo Prediction " to direct reading routines such as the “A Question And The Answer” and "In A Day On Your Life". A sample of one of my mentalism routines; In the "A Question And The Answer" routine I ask a spectator to write a question on a slip of paper to which he/she would like to have answered. The spectator does and then folds the slip of paper. I give the folded slip of paper to another spectator who initials the paper, places it in a clear zip lock bag and holds in full view of the audience. After focusing on the spectator who wrote the question, I pick up a slip of paper and write the answer to the question on it. As soon as I’m finished, I fold up the slip and hand it to a third person to hold in full view. Returning to the second person with the question sealed in a zip Lock bag, I take the bag, remove the paper with the question and read it aloud. I now ask the spectator holding my answer to unfold my paper and read the answer that I have written. My answer is a direct answer to the question the spectator asked on his paper. My mentalism routine can work on a stage or on the floor of a hotel ballroom or even in a restaurant. About the Combs Family Magic Show: The Combs Family Magic Show is a magic stage show that is performed by my daughter Cecilia and son Peter as well as all three of us (link hidden)is show includes classic stage illusions such as a levitation effect, teleportation effect and the sword box effect. The Combs Family Magic Show joined the The FIVE MINUTE FOLLIES for a great afternoon in family friendly entertainment. This show may be 45 or 60 minutes in length.

I always bring my own small sound system for up to 150 people. For larger room/groups I can provide additional sound equipment for up to 500 people.
