Gig Length: 60 - 240 minutes
Languages: English, Tagalog (Filipino)
In a show where the audience is meant to watch, I work hard to ensure that every person leaves having experienced connection and a break from their normal lives. Similarly, in a party/event scenario, I have learned how to "set the mood" so that whatever room I'm playing in feels like a good place to be. I will take most all requests, and always engage the audience to the level they engage me - but not try to be the center of every room when that is not what the job calls for!
I will be early to set up, bring my own sound system, and be straightforward before and during the gig about what I need from and also in asking how I can provide what you need from me.
I will also dress well - accordingly with the "vibe" of the event I am attending, and present myself well so as to add to the overall aesthetic of the event and not draw away from.
Hey, I'm Terrell.
I'm a Utah native, and have been singing essentially since I could walk. Since, I've been in countless productions, taken countless hours of voice, guitar, and production lessons, and gotten a degree in commercial music from UVU. In the last few years especially, I have played shows in Provo at places like the Velour, as well as played a number of events such as weddings and business or other private events.
The time I have spent with music has allowed me to become comfortable performing for any size audience, and my goal in playing music is to allow others to connect, and to be able to take a break from "normal life" for a moment or two. I write quite a lot of original songs, but also have an extensive setlist of covers, which I've added below.
Stylistically, my voice is very soulful and my playing sits somewhere between Motown, James Taylor, and John Mayer. Some songs will be "chill" and relaxed, and some will be more upbeat and groovy, and the list is very easily adaptable to whatever audience I happen to be playing for.
I hope to talk soon!
I have a full sound system, but if I am in a small room I will bring only one speaker so as to not be too loud. Knowing the size of the room and whether I will be simply background or more in the foreground will help me to know what to bring.
It is also important for me to know how far I will need to pack my gear, as well as any things that may slow me down upon arrival so I can plan accordingly. For example, I may plan on arriving 30 min early for a quick sound setup, but if I have to park further away and then unload, I will need more time and need to be able to plan accordingly.
Otherwise, the more info you can give me about the event and venue, the easier things will be for the both of us!
I can also play/take most any request given to me!
