Anissa is a native Washingtonian “born to perform!” Her love for singing developed at the age of 6, which is no surprise since she comes from a long line of entertainers. Anissa performed her first debut CD titled Still I Rise for two “sold out” shows at the historical Blues Alley in Washington, DC. Her single Crazy is currently in rotation on her hometown radio station and World’s Largest Adult Contemporary Radio Station, WHUR 96.3 FM, Sirius XM Heart and Soul, Music Choice and other stations across the country. Anissa was the recent recipient of the 2016 Washington Area Music Association (Wammie) Awards for Best Urban Adult Contemporary Recording. She pours her heart and soul into each note that she sings touching her fans! “Music you can feel” has often been described by concertgoers’ after her live performance. When not performing her own music, Anissa is on the road performing background vocals with the Multi-Grammy winner and legendary Queen-of-Disco Gloria Gaynor! Over the years she has also performed backgrounds with other legendary R&B artists like Patty LaBelle, Jean Carne, Miki Howard, The O'Jay's, Shirley Jones and a host of others.
