The Baytown Big Band, formerly The Baytones, is an 18-piece Big Band that has been together since 1995. They are repeat winners of the Review Magazine "Best Big Band Award," winning in 1997, 1998, 2003, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. They are also the winners of the 2010 Freeland Freedom Festival "Battle of the Bands."
The Baytown Big Band has a large "book." This enables them to play vintage swing tunes to modern jazz selections. They play selections from Miller to Maynard, Goodman to Goodwin.
For "Good Music for Good Times," the Baytown Big Band is your best bet.
Our event yesterday went off without a problem. The band was wonderful and played all the songs that the folks in attendance remembered. People filing out after the concert said they were transported back to the 40's which was a memorable time for them.
I'd hire them again in an instant.....

The members of the Baytown Big Band are past, present, and future music educators with a plethora of experience in the big band/jazz area. The band can play a formal reception, a dance party, an outdoor concert, or any other type of event that needs a professional Big Band.
The band is 18-pieces. Therefore, adequate room for the whole band to set-up is a requirement. The band brings their own equipment with the exception of 11 armless folding chairs.
