The Blue Dawgs

The "BLUE DAWGS" playing traditional blues, original music and some of the classic favourites in the Tulsa, Oklahoma City area. The Blue Dawgs take the influences of Blues, Rock, Soul, Jazz and R&B to create a high energy sound that respects the tradition of the Blues.

BAND BIO

The Blue Dawgs take the influences of blues, rock, soul, Jazz and R&B to create a high energy sound that respects the tradition of the blues and defines their style. The Blue Dawgs kicked of the Norman Music Festival in April of 2015. This is a 3 day event and one of the largest music festivals in the Oklahoma.

Bobby Brewer
Bobby is a skilled guitarist and vocalist who’s artistic development was influenced by one of his first major gigs working with Los Angeles studio musician Jay Daversa and Jazz legend, Drummer Shelley Manne. Bobby has been featured in national publications, Guitar World magazine, reviews in Vintage Guitar magazine and features in Saxophone Journal and Bassics Magazine. During the 1990's Bobby lived in Nashville, and was a part time member of country guitar legend Jerry Reed's band. He also was on staff at Full House recording studio as a guitarist on studio demos and as an engineer and producer for recording sessions. He performed with many country artists over the period of 15 years and also appeared in the film The Dottie West Story. Bobby is currently the Jazz Guitar Instructor at North Eastern University in Tahlequah, Ok.

Terry Kirkland
Guitar and vocals, Terry is a Tulsa natiive who has played locally at venues there over the last 20+ years. He began his love of music at an early age as well, studying guitar with Eldon Shamblin of the Bob Wills band, when Terry was just a youngster. He carrys on those roots of guitar with the "Blue Dawgs" as they play the music they love.
