On Monday, April 15, 2013, the University of West Florida’s chapter of Students for Suicide Awareness hosted their 5th Annual “Seeds of Hope” Music & Art Show at the Commons Auditorium. This year’s highlight was the headlining performers, the Boom Boom Pow for their second public performance. Several students, faculty, survivors, and community members gathered to enjoy several different performances including poetry, singing, dance, role-playing skits, and the Survivor Art Exhibit.
Their knock-out performance was truly a highlight of the show. Their energy, dance moves, and singing was dynamic, cohesive and moving - you couldn’t help but groove to the beat. They performed every Black-Eyed Peas song with such vigor and everyone present, from young college student to older community members were singing along. Their stage presence is dynamic - once more people start following them, they are sure to be a great success.
This was their second benefit performance following the Art Party X. Their willingness to get involved in community organizations to help raise awareness about different causes is truly admirable for a band that is just starting out. We wish them great success and hope to have them return for another show in the future!

In 2012, The Boom Boom Pow - A Black Eyed Peas Tribute Show was created by Vince Cyrus. With a concept in mind of a Black Eyed Peas Tribute Show, Vince worked diligently to create a show from scratch that emulated the often difficult to recreate sounds of the Black Eyed Peas music. With his keen entrepreneurial skills, he pulled together some of the best performers and musicians in the Pensacola/Fort Walton Beach area, tediously wrote all of the music and midi tracks for the show and handed it over to his band.
The band had their debut show on March 9th at the Art Party X in Pensacola. With over 2000 attendees, The Boom Boom Pow got the party rockin' and with great reviews from the attendees.
Since then, The Boom Boom Pow has seen success in the Gulf Coast area and extended their show from one hour, to two hours. They are booking shows for this summer and fall now, so please get in contact with them if you are interested in having them perform at your next event. Willing to travel anywhere from New Orleans to Jacksonville.
