I use my vocal skills to weave a tale that encapsulates the listener in the world of the stories I tell. I am verse in folklore and paranormal tales from around the world. You can hear me telling stories weekly on The Carolina Storyteller Podcast. I am also a writer and director of audio dramas.
Jonathan has a knack for telling stories. He's whimsical and elaborate with his material. He engages his audience and is easily understood. Long form storytelling is hard to come by in today's fast paced world, so I'm glad Jonathan is able to keep one's attention while he crafts his master tale.
"The Carolina Storyteller" is a horror-themed podcast that immerses listeners in the dark, mysterious, and often chilling tales rooted in the folklore and history of the Carolinas. Each episode delivers a well-crafted narrative that transports the audience into the eerie and unsettling world of Southern Gothic horror. The host is well spoken, humorous, and at times poignant.
The strength of "The Carolina Storyteller" lies in its, as the title suggests, storytelling. The host masterfully weaves intricate tales that are both captivating and spine-tingling. The stories often draw from local legends, ghost stories, and supernatural occurrences, making them feel authentic and deeply connected to the region. The pacing is excellent, allowing for moments of suspense and shock that keep listeners on the edge of their seats. Mr. Miller's voice is perfect for horror storytelling—calm, measured, and with just the right amount of creepiness. His ability to convey emotion and build tension adds a lot to the overall atmosphere of the show online and in person.
Overall, "The Carolina Storyteller" is a must-listen for fans of horror and folklore. Its compelling storytelling, and engaging host make it a standout in the horror podcast genre.

I have many different topics I speak on. Generally I like to use my skills with narration to share ghost stories and legends. Typically an hour show will include five to six stories. I have hundreds of stories to choose from and can cater the list of stories told to fit any audience.
I also speak about living with PTSD and mental health. I talk about importance of mental health care for first responders and all other workers. My discussions highlight my struggle and comeback from PTSD and how important treatment and a support system is. I also focus on explaining to clients how to identify an at risk employee and approach them to offer help.
Jonathan was born in Georgia and raised in Georgetown, South Carolina from the age of 4. In Highschool he was president of the Drama club, the school reporter, and interned at 93.7 Classic Rock. After highschool Jonathan became a firefighter, following in his father's footsteps, for 15 years he served his community as a firefighter, medic and 9-1-1 operator. He was driven from active service by PTSD. He found writing and speaking helped him cope with his depression and anxiety. He published his first book in 2021, his second in 2022. In May of 2022 he made his first guest appearance at Atomacon in North Charleston, SC. Jonathan went on to begin sharing the ghost stories and folklore he grew up with, eventually creating The Carolina Storyteller Podcast. He continues to write, and has even added directing to his resume as he is working on the upcoming audio drama Valmont: The Black Raven Chronicles. He just finished his third book which will be released in 2025.
Small outdoor or campfire story telling sessions typically do not require any technical support. Larger venues need to provide sound equipment.

My artistic influences include Mark Twain, George Carlin, Gabriel Iglesias and Jon Stewart. The stories I write and tell are influenced by my past as a firefighter, and the history and folklore I grew up around in South Carolina.
