Theo Bishop
When our wedding guests first arrived they were greeted by the beautiful music of Theo Bishop. He was absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend him for your event.
He played elaborate arrangements I had picked out for my wedding ceremony music, and played them beautifully. He was also kind in playing for extra time when the ceremony was delayed. Very personable and positive. :)
I am privileged to write a review for Theo Bishop. We hired Theo to play piano for our daughter's wedding ceremony, and could not be more pleased. He was wonderful and fun to work with, extremely competent, charismatic in personality, and perfectly reliable. As a pianist myself, I can accurately evaluate his work as highly qualified and proficient. He was willing to play not only pieces that we requested, but specific arrangements that we requested! I find myself trying to think of events where we could hire him again in the future! To sum up, we.loved.Theo!
Thanks to Theo and his fantastic piano playing..my mother-in-law had a 90th birthday party she will never forget..I heard back from Theo immediately and he could not have been more helpful..he cam into my home and made my old player piano sound wonderful!! His background music while we ate dinner was just PERFECT!! Thank you Theo for being a major party of a very memorable evening!! Joyce
On Sept 1, 2012, Theo and The Cheap Knick Knacks arrived hours prior to the event with little to no instructions from me. I was busy attending to my other vendors and the venue's coordinator. The band not only knew where to set-up, but had to work with my DJ who was set-up right behind the band. I was so glad that worked out well without any of my input.
Our wedding was a 1920s themed wedding and not only were the guests dressed to theme, but the band as well. We are of Asian decent, so the older folks are used to folklore music. However, they were blown away when the band hit the first not. Fast forward a month later and I'm still hearing praises about the Knick Knacks.
I just wanted to say thank you.
Hope you don't mind me posting a video, if so I can remove it.

WE HAD THE THEO BISHOP BAND PLAY AT A FOUR HOUR BACKYARD PARTY FOR A GROUP OF 20 SATURDAY GOLFERS AND SPOUSES. THEY PROVIDED GREAT BACKGROUND AMBIANCE. THE PARTY WAS WHILE THE OLYMPICS WERE ON AND MANY PEOPLE COMMENTED THE PARTY - WITH THE HELP TO THE BAND - MADE FOR A TRUE GOLD MEDAL EXPERIENCE. THE BAND WOULD BE WELCOME BACK ANYTIME. VERY PROFESSIONAL AND NICE PEOPLE.
Theo Bishop provided age appropriate music for my event! He was personable, entertaining, and engaging. I received great feedback from guest. "I really liked the keyboard player" "Oh, that music was so nice" "What a great idea to have a pianist" "The music was good, will you give me his number." There were absolutely no complaints. My man "Theo" met my expectations and I will call him again for my next event! Keep playing music Theo!
These guys are great. Obviously talented, they are versatile as well. For my holiday party, they did a combination of Christmas Carols, popular hits, and even some Bocelli. My guests are still raving about the evening. I can't wait to plan my next party so I can hire them again. Thanks, Knick Knacks...
The Cheap Knick Knacks played at a Christmas party at our home. The attendees varied in age from 22 to 60, and all were entertained by the wide range of music and the wonderful personalities of Jackson and Theo. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!
The Cheap Knick Knacks were wonderful! I would definitely use them again. They are very professional and know how it SING!
Theo showed up on time and ready to play. I was very happy that he was available to play for a couple of hours. I have recently got married so this was the first holiday that both families celebrated together. Theo selected some great music to play and took some requests also. Everyone that attended couldn't stop talking about Theo and his piano playing. Pat
When I hired these guys I never realized the scope of what they could provide for my wedding and reception. Not only did they provide the instrumental and vocal selections I needed for my wedding service but they did it with a world class flair that I thought was only reserved for royalty and the rich. It was after the service though that I was most impressed with. Jackson and Theo were the MC hosts of my dinner and kept the tributes moving, and were very funny and entertaining. Then they invited two other musicians to join them and played swing and dance music late into the night to make my dream wedding day complete. I did not find anything they could not do and would give them five stars and maybe six if I could. The Cheap Knick Knacks may sound like a funny name but they are serious about music and entertainment thats for sure.
My friends and I went to The Marlin Bar in Huntington Beach last night and saw these guys, they did everything! Someone said Styx and they played "Come Sail Away", than someone said Christmas Music and they did and amazing rendition of "Chestnuts Roasting on An Open Fire" Amazing piano, amazing vocals, great entertainers... 5 Stars!
They came to perform at our Church in Santa Ana and he performed a rendition of "Con Te Partiro" and there was not a dry eye in the congregation. We will definitely have them back.
Jackson is such a terrific performer, the way he really engaged the audience, and then the voice! Wow! Not to mention when he picked up a guitar, and then played drums, all while singing! Unbelievable performer! Five Stars!
I walked into Hennessey's in San Diego and sat down and couldn't stop watching these guys, EVERYTHING from Sinatra to Journey to Stevie Wonder. Just TWO GUYS!!! These guys are the REAL DEAL FOR SURE!

Theo Bishop Bio
Theo Bishop is no newcomer to the music scene. The veteran keyboardist/composer was born in Portland Oregon, the third of five boys that each pursued musical careers. His forays into classical, rock, jazz, country, new age and film music form a musical bridge between the styles of his two older brother’s rock & country backgrounds and his younger sibling’s classical talents. Theo grew up in Boise Idaho playing in rock bands and earning a degree in classical piano from Boise State University. This multitalented keyboard artist has won multiple competitions and after testing his hand at a variety of musical crafts and styles, eventually gravitated toward a career as a performer and songwriter.
Roots in Rock and Country
Early in his career, Theo toured with the popular rock artist and fellow Idaho import Gary Puckett from Gary Puckett and the Union Gap.He also played with Peter Noone from the early British Invasion band Herman’s Hermits and Terry Gregory a CBS Country Artist. In the 1980s he signed a record deal on Pasha Epic as a member of the rock band Isle of Mann. Later that decade Bishop formed Native Language, a new wave Bowie-esque rock venture that played well into the '90s, culminating in a deal with Carmen Productions and Joe Godfried at Sound City Studios. Other artists involved with Carmen at the time include Rick Springfield and Pat Benatar. Native Language ultimately became the namesake for the label that Bishop & Joe Sherbanee would co-found in 1996.
A Swing From Rock to Jazz
The past two decades have seen a metamorphosis from Rock to Jazz for Theo Bishop. He has written & produced some of Smooth Jazz’s top songs and performed with some of its brightest stars. Most notably, he has recorded and or played live with Jeff Kashiwa, Steve Oliver, Dave Hooper of the Rippingtons, Tony Guerrero, Rob Mullins, Juan Carlos Quintero, Brian Hughes, Jimmie Haslip and Will Kennedy from the Yellow Jackets to name a few. Theo’s “Newport Nights” and “One Man’s Dream” CDs have aired throughout the world and his music continues to receive playtime on various media around the world.
Producer Songwriter
In 2003 Theo co-wrote the #1 smooth jazz hit “Hyde Park (The Ah Oooh Song)” and has produced and written music for artists such as Solomon Burke, and the Russian rock band, Autograph. He has also produced and written for national artists including: Bartholomew, Meredith Marshall, Megan, The Sugar Daddy’s, Sugah Daddy, Joe Sherbanee, and many others.

The Future
Theo aspires to create music for media, and is ready for any musical challenge. He has composed, directed, performed, produced, mastered, engineered, and worked every aspect of a label including being the president and CEO. If there is a musical thought to be expressed Theo can help you do that better. If you want seasoned music to listen to or created for your project he can do that too.
