This vendor canceled on us at the last minute with no contact due to a family emergency. The person who answered the phone said Chris had given our event to an associate and provided that person's contact information. When I contacted the associate, he knew nothing about our job, denied that he had agreed to take on any work from Chris, and also was not available to do it (shout out to him, though for reaching out to a number of contacts on our behalf to help us secure an alternate vendor at the last minute). We received no contact from Chris at all, via any of the contact methods we provided to him (phone, email, gigsalad) about the status of the cancellation, and only found out about it when we tried to reach out to him the morning of our event for confirmation of the time he would arrive at the venue.
The trio was excellent. They were on time. They were helpful in the evening and multiple people at my party commented on how much they enjoyed the music.
So did I.
The Christopher Jon Trio is a talented group of artists. They are professional and courteous and their musical selection was fantastic. The guests at our grand opening reception were highly complimentary of them. I could tell by their "warm up" we were going to be in for a great experience.
I'm a bit of a music snob. These guys were really good. Music was tight. Lyric were sound. Don't hesitate to hire. They were a big hit!
I booked him to play at our Happy Hour at our Senior living community, and all the residents loved him! I thought his drummer, bass guitarist, and Chris played very well. Great variety of songs. Got my foot tapping. I will definitely be booking him again this year.

It was an honor to play to some of Kansas City's royalty. We met a retired jazz musician, the retired owner of the largest music store in Independence, and many others with a rich history. Everyone received us warmly and it was just a good 'ol fun time! Thank you all!
On July 31, we welcomed 350+ collegiate males to the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. In an effort to pursue one of our founding principles--the diffusion of liberal culture, we had a taste of BBQ provided by the hotel and some great jazz by The Christopher Jon Trio. Many undergraduates and alumni commented on the level of class added to the opening reception courtesy of the band.
Chris was professional on the front end and was easy to work with throughout.
Chris was perfect for our wedding. He played prior to the ceremony, while the guests were arriving, during the service then afterwards and accompanied me while I sang a song for my groom. He was great at communicating with me prior to the date of the wedding and enthusiastically incorporated my suggestions as well as having some very good suggestions of his own. Chris was punctual, professional, and a pleasure to work with. I would recommend him and wouldn't hesitate to work with him again.

We hired Chris as a solo guitarist to play for our wedding in April 2014. He did an excellent job accommodating to our tastes and requests. We gave him several specific songs to play and we received endless comments on how wonderful the music was. He was also extremely friendly with our guests - everyone loved him! We are very thankful he played for our special day. My only wish is that I could have heard more, but as the bride I was in hiding while he played as our guests were seated. Thank you Chris! Christopher Jön has 44 years of playing experience. He learned guitar by playing classical and jazz. He briefly studied jazz guitar with Bill Frisell, then went on to study with Bill's teacher: Dale Bruning. Christopher began performing as a solo act in the late 70's at various clubs and restaurants in Colorado. He earned a B.A. in Music Theory/Composition from the University of Colorado (Boulder). He then started playing the summer and winter resorts of Colorado, taking requests from the tourist ("play John Denver!") and locals ("rock on,dude"). He is now back to playing jazz, especially with his trio. Due to his diverse background, the trio is able to deliver a variety of sounds, from straight-ahead, mainstream jazz, to a mix of electric, acoustic and nylon-string guitar sounds. The trio includes vocal numbers, too. Catering to your musical tastes, the Christopher Jon Trio is a perfect choice for a wide variety of events and venues. And don't forget, Christopher still plays as a one-man band, taking your requests.
