We play a mix of jazz, blues and New Orleans-style Rhythm and Blues. From Louie Armstrong to Louie Prima to Dr. John and beyond, our combination of uniquely arranged standards and smoking originals has delighted audiences across the globe. Solo, duo, trio, quartet -whatever the format, we swing with groove, intensity and joy.
The Gary Negbaur Group was a great addition to our Mardi Gras Memorial Day party we had this year! They were very professional and the music was just fantastic! Great group of guys. Would highly recommend to any one who like New Orleans Style entertainment!
Fantastic. High quality musicians. Exactly what we wanted and the GNG came through with rave reviews from the audience.
Price Range: $500 and up

Gary Negbaur is a pianist/singer/songwriter who has toured across the U.S., Europe and Australia. His concerts mix jazz, blues and New Orleans style R & B, combining his own tunes with standards. His recordings include original rock music (Let me explain), solo jazz standards (Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat) and children’s songs (Max’s Family Band).
He’s performed in large venues like the Superdome in New Orleans, storied jazz clubs like Birdland in New York and music festivals like South by Southwest in Austin. Abroad, the Gary Negbaur Group has performed at historic clubs such as Le Bilboquet in Paris. Reviewers have dubbed him a “witty songwriter”(Austin Chronicle) with a “jazzy croon” (St. Louis Post Dispatch) who can “control the black and whites like...Captain Kirk manning the Enterprise.” (The Tennessean)
In addition to performing, Negbaur writes music and libretti for theater. He co- wrote Wine Lovers, the world’s first interactive wine-tasting musical. It’s a literally intoxicating evening of theater that’s being performed across the U.S. and on Norwegian Cruise Line. Librarians in Love (co-written with Tony-nominee John Cariani) ran at the NYC Fringe Festival. Negbaur and Cariani are expanding this one-act into a full-length musical.
Negbaur’s music has been used on film and TV. He contributed to the score of the feature film An American Summer, and wrote the theme for Cancerland, a reality TV show about breast cancer survivors. His song, Red Pontiac, was featured on NPR's "Car Talk," and singers often perform and record his music.
Gary studied at Harvard University (where he received the David McCord Prize for unusual creative talent and a Magna Cum Laude B.A.) and the Berklee College of Music (where he was a merit scholarship recipient). He tries to put all that to good use.
