The Midnight Sons

Formed in 2016, The Midnight Sons are a Niagara Falls-based Acoustic Duo featuring Stephen James & Jake Murray.

The duo first met in highschool, and have been longtime musical collaborators and best friends ever since. With a shared artistic vision , love and passion for all things music, the two are well seasoned performers and entertainers.

In 2006, Stephen relocated to Kamloops,BC. In 2011 he formed and was the frontman & guitarist for Kamloops’s very own The Blacklisted. The band was met with an enthusiastic and well deserved success. Known for their over the top performances and Stephen’s impromptu acoustic sets, the band experienced a great amount of success and local radio airplay. Although the band went separate ways in 2015 when Stephen relocated to Gabriola Island , you can find many of their awesome original music written by Stephen here: (link hidden)

During his time living on Gabriola Island, Stephan quickly made himself a known figure in the music scene, performing and running open mic nights, karaoke and more. You can find some of Stephan’s solo work here :

Jake is a jack-of-all-trades artist. He spent his formative musical years playing bass with Stevensville-Based original act Pouring Glass Dreams. The band toured , recorded and had a strong artistic driven pursuit in their approach , which shaped most of Jake’s musical tastes to this day. In more recent years Jake has been the bass player and front man for local cover act Shark Attack 64 , The band played heavily through the Niagara region through out (phone number hidden)3. For many years Jake has taken on a stronger interest in his solo work as well as audio engineering and production . His small home studio has produced hundreds of hours worth of original material . He also provides recording services , you can find some of his demo work here :

In 2016 Jake produced and released his first solo album “10 Years” a compilation of his favorite original material recorded over ten year period . You can stream and download the album here :

In 2016, Stephen relocated back to Niagara Falls, and almost immediately he and Jake began working on The Midnight Sons. Many years had passed since the two worked together but very little has changed, the same passion for the music remains.

Throughout (phone number hidden)7 the duo have over a 100 shows under their belt. Playing venues on regular basis, including 2 shows a week at the Hard Rock Cafe in Niagara Falls , as well as many other local venues. The group also had the privilege of closing Livestock Niagara 2017 at Taps Brewery.
