Enchanting and exciting, this acoustic band draws on folk, jazz, world, rock, pop, and jam band sounds when creating their original songs. They also enjoy interpreting a diverse array of classics. The Pine Needles signature soundscape is enjoyed at festivals, theaters, wineries, parties & weddings.
The Pine Needles can provide a PA System and run their own sound on smaller, regional events. Events requiring long distances and air travel, such as destination weddings, will require additional arrangements.
The band is flexible and can adjust to handle the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dance party!
We had our wedding celebration in the hills east of Santa Rosa and these guys rocked it out! Showed up early, learned a new song for us (John Prine - In Spite of Ourselves), willing to play in an off-the-grid historic barn, worked through technical difficulties, put on a GREAT show, fun and friendly, got tons of compliments!

The Pine Needles traveled a long way for our wedding, they were timely and delivered. Nice mix of danceable tunes in the genre of bluegrass and the Dead as requested. Good jamming going on as well. Very personable professional folks. We would recommend them to anyone.
The Pine Needles are excellent musicians - polished, secure, and musical. Not too loud nor too soft. Fun, frolicky music from Appalachia. People started humming and dancing spontaneously. We will definitely ask to come back.

The Pine Needles played our wedding last summer. They were wonderful. They accommodated several musical requests we made ahead of time, and were able to get the multi-generational audience up and dancing to a wide range of Americana string sounds that may not have been familiar to the entire crowd, but kept everyone smiling and tapping their feet. The Pine Needles are not the "average" wedding/event band, and are perfect for those who want a band with a broad but distinct repertoire and a mellow acoustic sound that is not afraid to take chances and rock a bit too. They were a huge hit with our guests and we enjoyed every note.
Having the Pine Needles play for our wedding reception was FABULOUS! We knew we didn't want a DJ, but weren't sure about hiring a live band. Well, the Pine Needles were perfect. They were friendly & professional during the contract process, met all of our wedding needs, and did a great job entertaining everyone. It was so much nicer than piped in or recorded music. My very reserved family even burst into a spontaneous sing along during the reception. What a wonderful memory of a wonderful day! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Pine Needles for any event.
The Pineneedles were affordable and easy to book, they were flexible and willing to drive from the North Bay all the way to the South Bay for the event. The band came to the venue prepared and on time. The most important part. . . the music! They started out with nice acoustic instrumental string picking for the low-key part of the reception, and then rocked it out with high energy bluegrassy strings with great percussion and swinging vocal. Everyone was dancing- young and old. The music is accessible to many age groups. They were professional and unobstrusive. They were friendly and very easy to work with. I would definitely recommend them.
