The Retro-Spectacular

Originally formed in the 1940's under a different name, Moonlight Requisition has undergone several re-incarnations over the last 80 years. The band is now lead by the grandson of its original band leader from it's first show in 1945, and includes some of the original charts and instruments from over three quarters of a century ago. During the peak of the great American big bands, 1930's-1960's, players from the orchestra were known to perform with a long list of major stars of the age, including Billie Holiday, Ray Charles, Sammy Davis Jr, and many more.
The direct lineage of both original media & literal bloodline makes Moonlight Requisition one of the very few, and most authentic modern incarnations of the great American big band era.

As a strategic way of keeping the art form alive, Moonlight Requisition has curated a number of era-specific events to pair up with, including 1940's style photo parties, murder mystery dinners, swing dance events and classic car movie drive-ins. As a result, we have become the go-to for any event, party or period piece movie intended to evoke the fashion, music, stories, history, dance, automobiles, language or history of the 1920's, 1930's 1940's & 1950's.

In full form the band boasts 22 members performing the identical arrangements performed by Duke Ellington, Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald & other greats of the age. The band is also available in smaller incarnations, with the size of the ensemble represented by the cycles of the Moon. the "Full Moonlight"
