I'm a singing guitarist/clarinetist and Susan a light percussionist. We perform popular music from the Great American Songbook as well as classic country, rock, folk and short jazz clarinet instrumentals. The largest portion of our business comes from performing concerts for seniors in a variety of locations and formats. We are affordable, professional and enjoy a lot of repeat business. We entertain but also provide a nice musical back drop from an intimate celebratory gathering to a larger event.
We have performed in the greater Tucson/Green Valley area since 2014.
My parents and their friends raved about you.what a great gift for them.personal service, highly recommend.
Response from The Rollin' Solands:
Thank you Cecilia for your positive review! It was a pleasure playing for your parents and their friends. Thanks for choosing us!
I am very glad we booked The Rollin' Solands for our event. They were on time, a pleasure to work with, and everyone enjoyed their music. They were a hit with our attendees!
Response from The Rollin' Solands:
Thank you Allison! We so enjoyed being part of your wonderful event and very happy your attendees were pleased!
Highly recommend this band for dinner events with light (not loud DJ type) dancing.
Great Communication: Brad answered all my questions promptly, added a requested song to the song list, requested permission to play two specific songs, competitively priced.
Great Music: Excellent music quality by three musicians, set up own equipment on time, played upon guest arrival, allowed me to use mic.
Great Reading the crowd: Kept the songs low key for the audience, took well deserved breaks when convenient for the event (not by the clock), approachable, focused the song list to the people.
Right Side of the Boat was very easy to work with and thoughtful regarding helping me arrange a 80th birthday party for my mother. They were exceedingly flexible and accommodating since our time kept changing and we weren't sure of the venue until the very last few days. All of this was very helpful since we are not local and were planning this surprise party from out of town. My parents loved them, and their rendition of "Crazy" literally brought them to tears.
Response from The Rollin' Solands:
It was a pleasure working with you Lisa. Thank you for this lovely review. We enjoyed ourselves and especially watching your mother, Betty, who looked happy and excited during this milestone celebration! El Charro on North Oracle was an excellent choice and their staff so accommodating with set-up and offering to pay for our meal!
Bradford and his wife were amazing! They play a little bit of everything and they start out with a nice jazzy introduction with the clarinet! Would recommend 100%!
I would like to say "The Right Side of the Boat" plays exceptionally well and my residents look forward to hearing their music and songs once per month. The musicians engage the residents in conversations and ask them how they are doing. We are truly honored to have this great group perform at our facility in making the residents' day much brighter or more joyful.

Gig Length: 60 - 120 minutes

We begin with a few jazzy clarinet instrumentals backed by professional backing tracks to set the mood. Then out comes the acoustic guitar and I begin singing with Susan supporting me on light percussion. Each gig is slightly different depending on the makeup of the audience. We begin our musical journey with a few tunes from the American Song Book followed by country, folk and light rock oldies (50's - 70's). You can view our outstanding repertoire under SET LIST. We are mobile musicians who can set up quickly and fit into small places. Our audiences love what we do. We bring all of our own equipment for audiences up to 150.
I love music. I believe it is healing. I grew up listening to the sounds of the sixties and the Great American Song book. Dad played tenor sax in swing bands to help him thru medical school and joined TMC's Doctors Band when we moved to Tucson. I loved listening to them rehearse. I started playing clarinet/sax in grade school and performed throughout high school and college. Along the way I picked up acoustic guitar and started singing. During that time I performed in numerous musical groups including marching bands, woodwind ensembles, a swing band, folk and rock groups.
I married the girl next door. Susan is a dancer and the light percussionist with Rollin' Solands. She loves music too. When we perform we are professional and keep the chatter between songs to a minimum....unless you encourage us. We love what we do and hope you will too!
We bring everything for a small to medium size venue (up to 150). Only access to an electrical outlet is required.
