The Rusty Doves, a progressive-americana band out of Utica, New York. Their music is a mixture of early swing and jazz standards, bluegrass, folk, and other genres for an energetic blend of sound. This two-piece combines mandolin and upright bass with vocal harmonies and is known for their big sound and array of unique musical arrangements. A great band for weddings and events!
I booked the Rust Doves for my wedding on 9/24/16. They were wonderfully professional, and the music was perfect. They worked with all of my requests and I loved them. I got 20+ comments from wedding guests, young and old, about how wonderful they were. I would recommend them to anyone!
The Rusty Doves played for our Women's Weekend Retreat. They were a smash! We loved their music - it perfectly complemented our dinner party. Everyone was out of their seats dancing. Alyssa and Jerry were very professional and easy to work with. From the initial booking through the whole evening they were fantastic.

Gig Length: 30 - 180 minutes
Since 2007, The Rusty Doves have been booked at coffee houses, restaurants, bars, festivals, and many private parties. Our acoustic stylings of 20's and 30's jazz tunes, bluegrass, folk and original songs have proved a perfect fit for a wide range of events. We have also provided music for wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours, and celebrations/receptions for many happy couples. Special songs can be learned by request!
We can generally provide our own sound system, depending on the size of the venue. For outdoor events, we would greatly appreciate protection from inclement weather and the blazing sun. For larger venues who provide a sound system we are ready to feed the system direct outs from our pedal box. Phantom power is also needed. Some DJ services can be provided for certain events. Acoustic performances are also available, for quieter ceremonies and small rooms.
