A Cover Band with a Beach Theme to Promote a Summer Party Year-Round. Heck, our Drummer even brings his own Lighted Palm Trees and sometimes his Hammock, Surfboard or a Real Tiki Bar. We Cover many of your Favorite Tunes from the 60's through Today in the most popular Genres. We refrain from the Cookie Cutter Bowling Shirts that many Beach Bands require. We think that looks too Corporate. How can you have Fun with Work on your Mind??? We choose to wear attire that promotes anything that pertains to Summer. Whether it is a Hawaiian Shirt, Khaki Cargo Shorts with Flip Flops or Jeans, T-Shirt with Tennis Shoes or Cowboy Boots, we want to be comfortable so that you will be comfortable. We want everyone to have Fun, Relax, and let go of that Corporate Mentality. We want you to Enjoy your Party to its Fullest and Let the Good Times Roll. Let's Have a Party and let us Help you make New Memories!!
"Tiki Jim" Starnes - Drums & Percussion, Lead & Backing Vocals : has played Drums for over 39 years. He learned his first Song 'Wipeout' by The Safaris at the early age of 9 because of the Drum Hook in the Instrumental. He made his first Professional Recording at the age of 14. He went on to play the Infamous Hair Band Rock in the mid to late 80’s. From there, he continued his journey with various Bands while gaining experience in Mainstream Genres such as Blues, Country, Smooth Jazz, and Trop~Rock. He has a BA Degree in History from UNCC. He specialized in Historical Preservation. While studying the History of Hawaii and challenging his Acting Skills in Theater, he picked up his Stage Name ‘Tiki Jim’.
He is Happiest when spending personal time with his Family and wearing Hawaiian Shirts and Flip Flops to work. He is also delighted that his Son ‘Tobago Noah’ has joined The SandSharks as a Rhythm and Lead Guitarist, backing 'Madman'.
“Madman" Madison Stegall - Madison began his musical journey at the age of 15. He was self taught until the age of 18, when he began studying at Wingate University. He has toured all of the southern states, toured through Texas, and has played many north-eastern states as well. His musical influences range from Willie Nelson to Metallica, and he is proficient in almost every musical style.
“Bahama Bob" Srnovrsnik – He was introduced to music at a young age while watching his Father, Grandfather, and several of his Uncles play professionally around the Cleveland area. He started playing the trumpet in 4th grade and continued through high school. In high school, he began singing in a Rock Band and performed at parties and Battle of the Bands. After college, he joined his Uncle’s band as a lead vocalist.
"The Duck Man" Mark Turcotte - Bass Guitar & Backing Vocals:
The Duck Man is a self-taught Bass player who has been playing for 30+ years. He has played and toured in the New England states with Loose Change, Blue Mountain Boys and Nite Fire. Since moving to North Carolina he has been laying down the beat and getting the groove on with Medicine Man, Seeds of Hope and Good Courage.
"Sashmo" Sascha Wollersheim - Keyboards & Backing Vocals: Sashmo has played Keyboards for more than 30 years and has played and toured with INDIGO for more than 20 years throughout Germany before moving to the U.S. in December 2013. After waiting for the right moment to come to the U.S. and the right guys to play with, he became The SandShark's Funky Keyboard Player who will Party with you all night long. Mainly influenced by Classic Rock, Punk, Grunge and 80's sounds he quickly discovered his love for Modern Country music after moving to North Carolina.
“Tobago – Noah” is the SandSharks' youngest Musician (17). Talent runs in his Family as he is actually the Son of our Drummer. He is bringing some awesome leads and sounds to our songs. He is currently taking Guitar Lessons from 'Madman' at a Local Charlotte School of Music and is learning to build his music career. He is inspired by the Guitarist Angus Young of AC/DC. He also has his own AC/DC Cover Band. Having Noah Jamming with his Instructor is a Chompin' Blast to watch!
We provide our own Sound, Lights and Beer - unless you want to be Generous. ;) We also provide Tents to Cover our Equipment to protect from the Sun or Rain.
