Let me start by saying that I’m very thankful for having the pleasure of experiencing a performance by The Songbird Raven. I spent months searching for someone to sing at my mother’s birthday party but couldn’t find what I was looking for. I was looking for someone who could not only just sing but someone who could SANG! And let me tell you, Raven can SANGGGGG!!! She had everyone blown away at my moms party. Literally music to my ears. She has such a beautiful voice. I could listen to her sing all day. She is such a sweet woman. She even went the extra mile to bring my mom a birthday gift. Very professional, great communication, made accommodations. Highly recommended.

Raven is a Native of North Carolina. Born in Sanford,
North Carolina; raised in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Raven began singing at the age of 4 years old. Music has
always been a part of her life, starting with her first musical
inspiration; her oldest sister. She began displaying her talents earlier on in life when she was in
elementary school. She would sing in school, talent shows, school choirs, and her home church
choir. Raven was most recognized by peers as being the star singer.
In 2012, Raven started singing in a local band in Greensboro name Blue Sand Band. With the
band she would perform in local spots in the Triad area. In 2013, Raven started working on her
solo career. She started off by going to local open mics, karaoke’s, and other artist shows to work
on craft and networking. In 2014, she won the “You Better Say something” open mic contest
sponsored by “Them Cousin”, and hosted at Churchill’s downtown Greensboro. From that point
on Raven’s grind for her musical career has been on the go. In 2015, Raven won New Female
Artist of the year, Sponsored by Featured Highlights founder Angel Penn; in Greensboro, NC.
Raven, has opened up for people such as Jimmie “JJ” Walker (hit TV series Good Times “JJ”),
and Chris Thomas (B.E.T’s Rap City Host).
Some of her musical artist inspirations are Whitney Houston, Prince, Luther Vandross, & Etta
James. She has worked with producers such as Gavin “Maestro” Williams, William Taylor (2 nd
Chance Music), & Abel “Don Gino” Terry. Raven is currently working on her album called
“Elements”, which will be released August 5 th , 2017.
