The Volare Trio consists of Flutist, Jennifer Gosack, Harpist, Nichole Luchs, & Violinist, Andrea McStay.
Jennifer Gosack recently graduated with her master’s and artist diploma degrees in flute performance from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Bradley Garner and Randolph Bowman. At CCM, she was a member of the CCM Chamber Winds, the CCM Concert Orchestra, and the CCM Philharmonia Orchestra. As an undergraduate, Jennifer attended the DePaul University School of Music, where she studied with Mary Stolper. In (phone number hidden)8, she was a member of the DePaul Symphony Orchestra and the Classical Symphony Orchestra of Chicago. In the summer of 2008, Jennifer was selected to perform at the William Bennett U.S. International Flute Summer School in Grayslake, IL, and the Gary Schocker Masterclass in West Park, NY. During 2007, she performed for the Anatomy of Sound Workshop with Amy Porter at the University of Michigan, and was selected as one of ten students to attend the Rhonda Larson Masterclass in Casperia, Italy. Jennifer also attended the ARIA International Summer Academy at Ball State University from 2005 to 2007, where she studied with Amy Porter, Bradley Garner, Walfrid Kujala, Judith Mendenhall, Karen Moratz, and Bonita Boyd. She received second prize in the 2010 South Carolina Flute Society Young Artist Competition. In (phone number hidden)4, Jennifer Gosack was a proud member of the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Lawrence Sisk. Jennifer was recently named to the music faculty at the University of St. Francis as an adjunct professor of flute performance, and she performs regularly as co-principal flutist of the Joliet Symphony Orchestra. Jennifer currently resides in Plainfield, IL, where she performs as a freelance artist and provides flute instruction to dedicated students of all ages.
Nichole Luchs, native of Freeport IL, started playing the harp at the age of ten through the harp program at her public school. At the time, Freeport School District was the only district in Illinois with the harp as part of the school's music program. She studied with harpist Nanette Felix, until she graduated from high school, and then went on to study with Elizabeth Cifani, principal harpist with the Lyric Opera of Chicago. Nichole received a Bachelors degree in Harp Performance from Northern Illinois University and a Masters degree in Harp Performance from Northwestern University. Nichole is currently an active free-lance musician and performs throughout Illinois and Iowa. She is the principal harpist for the Peoria Symphony, DuPage Symphony, and Illinois Valley Symphony, and she has performed with many orchestras in the area including the Rockford Symphony, Evanston Symphony, Skokie Valley Symphony, Fox Valley Symphony, Quad City Symphony, and Dubuque Symphony. She is a member of the Naperville Chamber Musicians and performs numerous chamber recitals with the group throughout the year. Nichole is also an active teacher and is the harp instructor at Fox River Academy of Music and Art in Oswego , IL and also at North Central College in Naperville, IL.
Andrea McStay is an active performer and violin teacher in the Chicago area. She studied music at Lewis University, Joliet Junior College, and Grace College, leading to the completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Music Merchandising from Lewis University. Her principal violin teachers include Dr. Lee Joiner, Mr. Gert Kumi, Ms. Renée Baker, and Mrs. Pat Lackey. She is also grateful for the musical expertise and inspiration from college professors Dr. Lawrence Sisk and Dr. Thomas Liley.
Ms. McStay has extensive experience performing in chamber ensembles and is a founding member of the Sveltezza Ensemble and Volare Trio. Additionally, she has performed with the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra, serving as concertmaster for three seasons, Symphony of the Lakes, and the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra. She has attended various summer music programs including MasterWorks Festival, Southern Illinois Music Festival, Bob Jones University Music Camps, and Kankakee Valley Piano Camp. Over the past several years, she has gained teaching experience as a violin instructor for MOSAIC Enrichment, Bristol Grove Music, Midwest Homeschool Fine Arts, and at her home studio. She recently attended the Chicago Suzuki Institute for teacher training and currently teaches group lessons with Joliet Area Suzuki Strings. In addition to being a teacher and performer, she is the music librarian for the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra.
