The Wailin' Hues is an 9 piece Ottawa/Gatineau based dance band.
Operating primarily during the peak wedding season (May to October), the band is always excited to jam out with killer sets that are sure to bring everyone to the dance floor.
Of an evening, you can be sure to hear a variety of dance music from the roaring 20's swing music to today's top 40 hits.

For pretty much my whole life, I have wanted a wedding with a live band. With a few decades of expectation, you can imagine it would be a pretty high bar, but the Wailin' Hues met and surpassed my expectations. Every interaction with them was lovely and easy. They were happy to modify their set list with a few special songs, and were flexible with some other venue-specific setup issues. Planning a wedding is always stressful, but the Wailin' Hues made the music part of the evening stress-free AND wonderful. We opted for the "Ultimate Wedding Package" and we were not disappointed. So many of our guests told us after the wedding how wonderful it was to have live music throughout the night, and having a DJ for the last few hours was the cherry on the top. I would heartily recommend the Wailin' Hues for all your music partying needs!

I asked these guys to perform at a private venue as I proposed to my girlfriend. They were phenomenal; they adjusted to a last-minute venue change without a hitch, were set up and ready to go well before I arrived, and they had excellent communication prior to the event. Once we arrived, the music was perfect. They are all talented musicians. Their set list was well chosen and having them there was the icing on the cake.

The band was great! They got people of all ages up and dancing within minutes with such ease. The variety of the music and the degree of talent in this band is amazing! I would highly recommend them.

What to Expect
Upon hiring The Wailin' Hues you can be sure to receive a full list of songs from the band. You will then be able to tailor your event to your liking by choosing your desired set lists. You will also be able to request one song from the band (ex: your first dance) and we will create the arrangement just for you!
On the day of the event, the band will arrive early to set up and be ready to play 15 minutes prior to the agreed timing. The band will provide non-stop dance music that will be sure to bring all your guests to the dance floor!

We are a 9 piece Ottawa/Gatineau based dance band. Operating primarily during the peak wedding season (May to October), the band is always excited to jam out with killer sets that are sure to bring everyone to the dance floor.
During the year, our members are busy performing with a variety of ensembles across the National Capital Region, teaching privately and in schools, and arranging new pieces for both The Wailin' Hues and other projects.

Additional Booking Notes
We are able to provide all our own sound and lighting equipment as required. Our Party Band is a large ensemble and requires a performance area of at least 20ft x 12ft.

An area of a width of no less than 16 ft (4.9m) and of depth of no less than 12ft (3.6m) must be provided for the performers.
Two wall outlets must be provided within 25ft (7.6m) of the performance area.
