Greeting!
My name is Tommy Sandovallegos. Whether I'm playing originals or covers, I'm the percussionist who adds flavor to your creativity and vision. I have an extensive background with rhythmic patterns that add culture and familiarity to a vast array of different types of music. I strive to be a professional in everything I am being asked to participate in as well as maintaining a very easy to get along with can do attitude. Music is my passion and anyone who I have ever had the honor of sharing time on stage with will confirm that I am friendly, skilled, professional, meticulous, and punctual. So, what challenge do you have in store for me? Lets make some music and money!
This guys is something else. He has the ability to fit right in with any group and add to the groove. Thanks Tommy.
I'm a guitarist for a funk band in Seattle and I hired Tommy for this group as well as my Spanish Rock group. He is awesome and people love watching him play. He is something else. Real talk!

If I am hired for any project, I understand that rehearsals are a must. You can expect that I will be punctual as well as prepared so we can maximize our precious time. Time is money so its important for me to be prepared because it should be understood that my presence may not be needed or afforded for every rehearsal.
As I strive to be professional, I have as much top grade gear expected by someone who is hiring a professional percussionist. This is not limited to just instruments. I have my own percussion and condenser microphones as well as sub mixer console so, I can just hand a 1/4" instrument cable to a sound person and I'm ready to be completely heard.
My arsenal includes the following: (LP is for brand Latin Percussion)
3 LP Red Lava Finish Congas. Tumba-Quinto-Conga all with custom Remo synthetic black calf skins
Matching LP Bongos with custom Remo synthetic black calf skins
LP Brushed Nickle finish Matador Timbales.
LP Red and Blue Jam blocks, LP Salsa cowbell, Bomba Bell, Cha Cha Bell, Agogo Bells, LP Rock cowbell.
LP Vibra-slap, LP Flex-a-tone, LP Cricket, LP Maracas, Clave, LP Guiro, LP double row brass wind chimes, LP percussion table with mounted hardware rack, miscellaneous shakers, tambourines. Zildjan cymbals and cymbal hardware.
5 piece CAD microphone kit consisting of 3 drum mics for the congas and bongos and 2 over head condenser mics for timbales, percussion effects, and cymbals.
1 Shure model#58 vocal mic for backup vocals if needed.
5 Channel Behringer submixer with phantom power accessibility.
Percussion! I play congas, bongos, timbales, and allthe sound effects that a percussionists would bring to the stage like shakers, chimes, and other special sounds.
I have played with many musicians for many types of funtions but a small list of most notable would be Byron Bordeaux, Don Menza, Maurice Bailey, and most recently Grammy award winning saxophonist Paul Sawtelle.
I'm from Southern California and currently living in Olympia, WA. I will travel to different locations to perform if I am being compensated fairly.
For the bigger venues, I will need to have at least 8 foot by 8 foot area with a dependable power source no further than 10 feet.
The space I perform in will decrease substantially depending on the instruments I will not need to bring for your particular venue.
I will need a dates for the load in time, sound check time, performance time.
I would also ask for any further dates and times as soon as possible. As well as any links to content pertaining to the project in question. (ie. DropBox, YouTube, MP3s)
Any location that requires set up will need to have reasonable accommodations like parking, loading/unloading access to a performing area not at great distances from each other.
I understand that rehearsals are necessary and I will be happy to accommodate your times and dates if I'm not already booked.
Again, I understand that rehearsal is needed however, I do reserve the right to discuss my level of involvement for rehearsals where my skills aren't needed. In other words, if I have my parts perfected and someone else needs work, please use discretion when calling me in for a group rehearsal unless it is either absolutely necessary or the rehearsal is being compensated. Using common sense, I am all too happy to accommodate as long as the project is progressing and my presence isn't redundant.
My influences are so vast that I will just say that I have the ability to cater to the following genres,
Rock, Latin Jazz, Smooth Jazz, Classic Jazz, Rhythm and Blues, Funk, Soul, Pop, Rap, and many more top 40's with in the last 5 decades.
I pride myself in appreciating as much music that's been put in front of me. The only genre that doesn't leave much for me is country or western music. It's not that I don't appreciate it but, that it doesn't lend itself as much for the type of rhythmic percussion I provide.
Dependable power souces within 10 feet of my performing area.
Depending on the venue type and size, I will need 8foot x 8foot performing area. This will decrease if I do not need everything in my kit.
Reasonable distances for loading and unloading for any place where set up is required as well as parking.
