Tonja D was very enthusiastic, fun, and engaged with the crowd. Her jokes were clean and funny. Tonja is a very nice person and enjoyed talking with her outside of her act. I would recommend Tonja D to any event that is family oriented or even with kids involved as was our event. Thanks Tonja D! Hope to see you again soon.

BIOGRAPHY
Legal Name: Tonja D. Roberson
Stage name: Tonja “D” (The Ton of Fun)
Born January 5, 1970 in Shreveport, LA. I grew up in the Cooper Road community and attended Newton Smith Elementary, Linear Middle and Green Oaks High. My interest in comedy started early because of the economic state of my family and the absence of my father. I would make light of every situation because I did not want to cry.
After graduating from high school in 1988, I enlisted in the Navy, served honorably and retired after 26 years. Shortly after retirement, I was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and went through a nasty divorce after 22 years of marriage. During my counseling sessions. I would keep the group and stitches telling jokes. One day the therapist asked if I ever thought about seriously doing comedy and I said, “yes.” She enrolled me in the Armed Services Arts Partnership (ASAP) Comedy Bootcamp class and my comedy career began. Because I am a preacher and a Sunday school teacher, I have chosen to keep my comedy classy and clean.
Credentials include:
- Graduate of ASAP Comedy Bootcamp school
- Graduate of ASAP and PUSH Comedy Club Improv Class
- Starred in the independent film titled “The Patroller.”
- In the Veteran commercial “Call of Duty” which aired during Superbowl 2020
- Performed at Funny Bone’s Clash of the Comics (10 times)
- Hosted Open Mic every Friday at Sweet JAM’s Café in Norfolk Virginia for 2 years
- Was the opening act for comedians Shucky Ducky, Boogie B, and Ray Grady
- I was the featured at for comedians Tanesha “Just Nesh” Rice, D Ellis (Dallas King of Comedy), K-Dub and Reginald “Bruh Man Ballard.
- I have performed at various private events.
