GRAMMY nominated singer / songwriter & performer that specializes in Bluegrass and Americana music. I'm known as a singer / songwriter around here but can play ambient instrumental music on guitar or banjo. Looking for bluegrass? I'll put together an incredible bluegrass band for your event. Acoustic duo or trio? No problem. Want a rockin' electric country style band to give your corporate event a real Texas flare? Yep. Wedding? Perfect for your cocktail hour or ceremony music.
Tony was loved by all our guests, he is great to work with too. I highly recommend booking him for an event
We were really happy with Tony's communication, performance and the overall experience! The music was the exact vibe we were looking for and everyone was very impressed!
Tony was so easy to work with and his music is AMAZING!!! He truly made our party special.

Insurance: $1,000,000 - I will happily get liability insurance if it is required by the event planner
I have a lot of options for private events so here they are broken down below:
Solo - I can sit up and sing my songs all night long on guitar and banjo. I do a good chunk of country covers and some other genres as well. If the audience wants to interact and party with me, let's do it. If they want to sit and listen to stories and really dial into the tunes, great! If they want to converse with each other and keep me in the background for ambiance, that's great too. I am an established, well known original artist here in The Live Music Capital of the world - that's typically the spin event planners like to take.
Instrumentalist - if you're looking for instrumental music (for say a wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, or intimate get together) I can do that on guitar for hours, and can even add in some banjo if you want. This can also be done as an acoustic duo, up to a quartet.
Weddings - I'm best for cocktail hours or ceremonies. I can do either solo, or provide up to a 5 piece bluegrass or mellow acoustic outfit.
Bluegrass - I have quick and easy access to all of the best bluegrass pickers in the Austin area and can put together a fantastic, high energy, ripping bluegrass band with not that much notice.
Full Electric Country Style Band - I do have a full band with drums, electric instruments, and they're some of the best around. This is really best for corporate events that want to showcase a real, well known, established Austin artist that normally you'd have to buy a ticket to see. We do a handful of covers, but not a full 3 hour sets worth. I don't suggest what I do as your big wedding band unless you're already a big fan - even then I'd try and talk you out of it to be honest. Corporate events are really my specialty here. It's a rippin' band of fantastic players that's great for giving your event a real, authentic Austin flavor.
Tony Kamel is a GRAMMY Nominated singer / songwriter based in Austin, TX. He's well known as the front man for the well known bluegrass outfit Wood & Wire. Since Wood & Wire's hiatus in 2020, Tony kept busy making music and playing solo shows. He is well known as a compelling singer and instrumentalist, and a captivating performer that loves to engage with his audience.
With a laid-back studio and a kick ass band, all Tony Kamel needed to tie his debut solo album together were some grade-A, feel good tunes—and boy, did he deliver. Back Down Home finds the Houston-born songwriter and frontman for the Grammy-nominated string band Wood & Wire striking out to make a solo record for Bruce Robison’s label, The Next Waltz. In just a few days of no-fuss tracking at The Bunker, Robison’s all-analog studio in Lockhart, Texas, Kamel and several talented contributors crafted an album that fully conveys the down-home vibe its title suggests, as well as the laid-back nature of life on Texas’ Gulf Coast, especially Galveston. The sum of all of these parts is a sonic travelogue of sorts that takes listeners from Texas-imprinted country-folk, old-time and bluegrass styles to Louisiana’s singular stew of Cajun, jazz, funk and other special ingredients; a stunning solo debut most aptly described as Third Coast roots music.
