As a vessel for The Lord, I will share with you through song and testimony how God is the same today as He was when He walked on this Earth some 2000 years ago.
You will hear some Praise and Worship songs, some old time gospel hymns and also some original songs that The Lord gave. I can promise you that if you come to hear me with a open heart and a open mind that Jesus will speak to you in a way only HE can!
Reflecting Back growing up in the South was an awesome time. Some of the best times I can remember being a kid was playing sports after school with my brothers and their friends, chasing lightning bugs in the spring, and hunting in the woods with my Dad and Papa. Seemed like everything we ate was fried (unbelievably good), ice cold buttermilk was the drink of choice (by my dad and I), and watching “The Beverly Hillbillies” and “Gilligan’s Island” every day, was just part of what made my childhood incredible. But my greatest memory was that of my Mom and Dad and the love and patience they shown me and my brothers every day.
Wednesday nights, Sunday mornings and Sunday nights the Church doors would open up and we were always there to walk thru them. Occasionally on Tuesday nights, at least once a month, my Mom and I would attend the WMA (Women Missionary Association) meetings. I was just a kid but I loved being there with all of Mom’s women friends seeing how they were impacting people thru their missions and showering God’s love to people. Yea, and how they made over me every time was pretty incredible too! LOL!
Music has always had a huge influence on my life. As a kid we didn’t have much to do other than play sports, watch TV (3 stations only, by the way), and listen to music. (Eight Track boom box, and vinyl record player) LOL! I soon learned to love and listen to all genres of music, country, rock and roll, gospel, jazz, etc. Kansas, Boston, Mercy River Boys, Petra, Alabama, Imperials, David and the Giants, and legends like Glen Campbell, Bobby Goldsboro, BJ Thomas, and the one and only Elvis Presley were some of the groups and people I listened to every day. By listening to this broad spectrum of music I found that God had given me a love all types of sounds, different beats and melodies, and most importantly how a story can be told thru music that can penetrate the heart like an arrow.
With this musical love and the love of going to Church at a young age, I slowly started blending them all together to share the Love of My Savior, Jesus Christ, to others through music. After many years of not doing much with music outside of my home Church, I was blessed by being introduced to Jonathan Goodwin of C&C Music. It is amazing to me how God, even after feeling I was not worthy to be used, due to struggling with memorizing song lyrics (due to the results of medication throughout my entire life), learning to play a guitar, and other self -conceived, Satan introduced, reasons for not being able to be used, God brought my life and Redemption World Records together.
Since this introduction and becoming part of the Family of Redemption World Records, I have seen the verse Ephesians 3:20 come to life many, many, times. First, by recording and releasing my first solo project, “You Are My God”. This project was a dream come true for me. God had given me these words and the melody to the song many years before while travelling on the road and I never imagined I would one day be able to record it and release it as my first single. It did not stop here, on my second solo album release, “Hey Everybody”, I was able to bring back some more of the Country and Praise and Worship feel. Again, was blessed to be able to record in Nashville, TN. a couple of songs that were penned by me but given by God. They were the title track “Hey Everybody” and “Never Alone”. “Never Alone” I wrote one night in my Living Room after a lot of things were happening in my life. Amazing looking back out how My Savior was speaking to me while I was playing my guitar and reflecting on my feelings. CRAZY!!! The most recent project I just completed “Never Turning Back” took a whole new turn and consisted of more upbeat, contemporary style music. The song “I Have Decided to Follow Jesus” was a childhood favorite that had made a huge impact on me as a teenager. The words still to this day has a huge impact on me and is the reason we entitled this project “No Turning Back”. So being able to record it and having Rev. Billy Graham speaking on it as well, touches me each and every time I listen to it. My prayer is that you will listen to these projects, see how God loves, feel His Grace and Mercy upon you, and that you will hear God’s voice and not mine in all of the songs.
By reflecting back on the last 8 years, I see God has been moving the traffic cones of my life around and around and has been preparing me and Redemption World Records for an amazing Ministry! I am looking forward to what God has in store for 2015 and beyond.
So climb on board, buckle in, and let’s get ready for the ride of a lifetime!! Let’s do the GREAT COMMISSION together!
In Christ!
