We are an award-winning husband & wife musical duo, specializing in interactive performances for children and families. We get audiences of all ages involved in the performance, through singing, movement, sing language, lyrics-on-the-spot, puppets and more. We feature a wide variety of musical styles, with vocal harmonies, intricate guitar work and multi-ethnic drumming and percussion. Many thematic programs are available, including songs about reading & books, environmental science & animals, and interpersonal topics such as diversity, conflict resolution, character education and making a difference. We also do lots of songs that are just plain fun and silly.
David and Jenny were wonderful! Their songs had children creating conga lines and dancing along! Despite a sudden rainfall David and Jenny kept the performance moving by inviting the audience up under the bandstand with them. Many chose to dance in the rain also. Very professional couple!
Response from Two of a Kind:
Thank you so much for the review, Donna! It was a pleasure meeting you, and a pleasure performing for Tupper Arts yesterday! The children, parents, counselors and whole community were wonderful! Thanks so much for having us, and we hope to work with you again in the future!
Professional, Kind and Fun. Entertainmented 15 toddlers and 18 adults. Lots of fun! Thank you.
It was a pleasure working with Dave and Jenny. They were hired to perform for two camp sessions for an organization for which I volunteer. We couldn't have been happier and more pleased. They are certainly a highly talented duo who put on an engaging and fun performance that the campers were excited about and continued to talk about throughout the rest of the week, mentioning it was a highlight of their week. I would hire them again! Thanks to Two of a Kind!
Response from Two of a Kind:
Thank you SO much for having us for 2 performances recently, and for the excellent review! We had a great time singing with the delightful kids there, and we hope to return! Best, David, Two of a Kind
I couldn't have hoped for any better from "Two of a Kind". As a matter of fact they far exceeded my expectations, They engaged the kids and adapted the music, props and activity based on the feedback from the kids. They provided a top notch performance singing many of their own songs. The use of props made the performance fun and very engaging for the kids. It was obvious that this duo is amazingly talented, bringing their best (and then some) to our venue. I hope to have the opportunity to hire them again. I highly recommend hiring Two of a Kind. They are very kind, warm and easy people to work with.
Response from Two of a Kind:
Thank you for your kind words, Laura! We loved performing for the kids there - they were so wonderful! We look forward to seeing you again, soon!
Jenny and David played at our daughter's 1 & 2 year old birthday party. They were interactive and kept the kids (Ages ranged 6 months-10 years) entertained the entire time! We also provided some of the girls favorite songs and they incorporated them into their set. I would definitely recommend Two of a Kind for any kid's event. Thank you for making it a special day!
Response from Two of a Kind:
Thank you so much for the great review, Kristen! We thoroughly enjoyed performing for Siena & Sofia's birthday party yesterday. They were both adorable and very attentive, and all of your guests were friendly and enthusiastic! We were very impressed by how many of the older kids were willing to participate in songs that were aimed at the younger range - they were very mature and supportive. It was a wonderful party, and we were honored to be a part of it!
Two of a Kind was professional, accommodating, and truly has a knack for performing for kids. Our whole family was involved in the performance and I received so many compliments after the event. Everyone loved it and he brought our whole crowd together.
Response from Two of a Kind:
Thank you so much for this review! I really appreciate it! It was great to meet you and your family! Best, David
Two of Kind put on a great show for the children in our school! They kept the all the children engaged the whole time!!! We are a childcare center so we had babies all the way to up pre schoolers so keeping them all entertained was not easy. Some of the older children asked me the next day when they will be coming back. We highly recommend them
Response from Two of a Kind:
Thanks so much for the great review, Iris! We loved singing for and with your delightful kids! Best, David & Jenny, Two of a Kind
David was great! He had a difficult task of performing for mostly younger kids who weren't able to be AS engaged as maybe was required for the type of 'performance' he does, in addition to chatty moms! Nonetheless, I think everyone enjoyed it! I would recommend David to those who are looking to do parties for maybe older 'babies' (2+) who can be a little bit more engaged in his songs, etc. Regardless, loved the music and added a lot of fun to the party! Thanks, David!
Response from Two of a Kind:
Thanks so much, Haley! I hope Ollie had a great birthday!
Two of a Kind provided a very engaging and fun performance for our children! You can really see that the children were enjoying the songs and were able to participate in the singing and movements!! Would definitely have them back!!
Response from Two of a Kind:

Why the name TWO OF A KIND?
David and Jenny have been singing together since they met at Oberlin College back in 1986. They found that they had so many things in common, they felt like they had lived parallel lives. They married in 1989. At first they sang in coffee houses and other folk music venues, but after David starting teaching music at an elementary school, they began singing songs for kids. Demand for TWO OF A KIND concerts grew and eventually they quit their day jobs and began performing full-time in 1996. In 1995 their name "Two of a Kind" came true when they had identical twin boys named Ari and Jason. They are very grateful that they did not name their group "10,000 Maniacs" or "The Three Stooges."
