Overview
We are the University of California, Berkeley's co-ed, competitive Hindi Film Dance team!
UCB Azaad, referring to "independence or freedom", is excited to bring a fresh, new taste of Bollywood to Berkeley! The team is based on dedication, passion and energy, with the primary goal of creating productions that entertain and motivate audiences to connect with the Bollywood culture.
After thirteen years of collegiate competitions, Azaad has been extremely successful and has entertained audiences nationwide. Combining Indian classical, folk, and modern styles of dance, we take pride in our creative choreography and production elements, as we hope to set the bar higher and higher each year.

I had an amazing experience working with UC Berkeley Azaad. I had requested their performance for my event, the city of Oakland's first ever official Diwali celebration. The performers brought so much energy to the space - a packed venue of all ages - and folks appreciated their style, their charisma, and skill. Would love to work with them again in the future!

UCB Azaad were fantastic. Ajay and Varsha performed several amazing sequences which got everyone excited about dancing. They then spent time teaching the kids simple dance moves and had everyone (including the shy ones) dancing together! Thanks for the event.
