Ukulena, is a Russian-American singer song-writer and multi-instrumentalist. Growing up in Hawaii, she learned ukulele at age 5. She's been recording since before she can remember in the arms of her father, Igor Khramov (of bands LIMPOPO and Red Elvises). She has a show-stopping, head-turning presence, singing sweet siren melodies with her angelic and soulful mermaid vocals, strumming along the strings of her ukulele at any tiki bar or ocean side venue, weddings, private events and more! She can also blow the roof off at any downtown bar or venue with her full band. Ukulena is not just one genre, she incorporates all of her passion and inspirations into her performances. What can you expect at a Ukulena performance or when hiring Ukulena?
When experiencing a Ukulena performance:
Well, Ukulena has transformed in so many ways through her many years as an artist. She does not stick to just one genre alone, so many influences have designed different eras of Ukulena, and she is just constantly growing, blossoming, and changing her musical styles. From Rockabilly to Tikibilly to Tiki-Soul-Rock ‘n Roll to Pop go Reggae to Cumbia to dreamy siren serenades! She can do it all, but always will have that island vibe from learning ukulele in Hawaii at such a very young age.
Her voice has been described as a human theremin, so she can pretty much sing anything. She can perform her very own original music, so many deep underground classics, oldies to new, top 40, and she can also take requests. And yes, she can perform a very dreamy cover of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” by IZ (;
When she performs solo (alone), it’s like a fairy mermaid is singing to you, very hypnotizing and dreamy. As big or small as her crowds are, she makes everyone feel like the only one she’s singing to.
When she performs as a duo with her guitarist, Jason Masoud, it’s a very fun, dreamy, and energetic pairing. Her duo is called “Duo Me This”, with a very gypsy jazz sultry aesthetic, they will blow your minds with the energy they pour out.
When she performs as a duo with her percussionist, Janelle Frese (her mama), it’s sucha jungly tiki sweet vibe. All girl duo.
But when she performs with her full band, oh man, it’s like a punk rock Snow White haha, her band just gets down and is ready for anything ‘cuz they tend to match any event needs. You need calm and more of a background music/band we got you. You need more of a party/upfront band we got you on that too!
Ukulena and any of her acts can perform up to 1-3 sets/hours of material. Prices vary on event needs, distance, and time.
With her Selena Tribute, oh boy is that a huge show! You can except tears for our angel, Selena. You can expect a full room packed full of dancing and singing along. You won’t wanna miss this! Her Selena Tribute offers one full hour/set of a Selena experience plus an encore/finale song. Prices vary on event needs, distance, and time.
When hiring Ukulena:
You can expect communication, commitment, and kindness. As extroverted as Ukulena seems, she’s actually quite introverted and deep/honest/real. She’s more of a friend than just a business hire. She will make you laugh, smile, and get excited for your event because you will not need to worry about Ukulena. She always shows up 30 minutes to 1 hour before she has to perform. She can even be there up to 2 hours in advance or if she’s needed for a soundcheck, she can be there even earlier. Her set up is very fast and simple. She has her own equipment just in case venues or events don’t provide sound; sound is always important and highly appreciated though. And she is very bubbly and will make things go smoothly as she’s been a musician/artist her entire life.

Ukulena is a Russian-American artist, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and entertainer that grew up in California and Hawaii, the definition of paradise.
Growing up spinning on Jimmy Durante’s piano stool that was gifted to her great-grandmother, Theone, the mysterious “Mrs. Calabash”; she has been singing, song-writing, learning different instruments, and recording since before she can even remember, in the arms of her parents, mainly her father, Igor Khramov (of bands: Limpopo & the Red Elvises). She was just born into a musical family, singing straight out of the womb hahaha…
“Ukulena” is a play-on words of her name, Marlena, and her main instrument, the ukulele!
She learned ukulele in Hawaii at just age 5 or 6 and has been performing professionally non-stop since age 13. Now age 26, accomplishing years of hard work and entertainment, with so many original music releases, including her upcoming second album containing 16 all new original songs, she’s ready for anything that comes her way!
She has a show-stopping, head-turning presence. She can light up any tiki bar with her siren voice & strums on her ukulele. She can blow off any roof with her soulful voice & full band! She can also perform an entire Selena experience with her 6-piece Cumbia band!
Meet Marlena Lorèn Khramova, making the scene as Ukulena! Orange County’s Pineapple Princess, Southern California’s Ukulele Queen!
She can perform public or private event needs, she can perform weddings (providing music as you walk down the aisle or at your cocktail hour, etc.), backyard parties, lighten up your tiki bars, your music venues, all with her very own original music, classic oldies hits, new top 40 hits, tributes, and so much more!
Ukulena can perform solo (just her siren voice and her ukulele), duo (either Ukulena with a lead jazz/gypsy guitarist or percussionist), trio (ukulele, upright bass, percussion), or full band (vocals/ukulele, lead guitar, bass, drums, sometimes horns or keys). Any of these acts up to 1-3 sets/hours.
And she can also perform an entire Tribute to Tejano Queen, Selena Quintanilla, with her full 6-piece cumbia band, or solo on her ukulele! For her Selena Tribute (full band) she only can offer one full hour of a Selena Experience plus an encore, as this is a huge show. She can split it into two 30 minute sets with a costume change as well. Or perform one set solo on her ukulele as well.
Prices vary on event needs, distance, and time.
