This band didn't have a ton of reviews or videos of them playing, so we weren't completely certain how it was going to play out when booking them for our wedding. Well let me just tell you, they were better than we could've hoped for! We gave them almost no direction, picked basically none of the songs we wanted them to play and it turns out we didn't need to because they know what they're doing! They are incredible musicians, the vocalist is amazingly talented, they are fun and professional and organized and were just a genuine pleasure to have at my wedding! Would absolutely recommend them a thousand times over.
The usual suspects made our wedding reception the best music ever and so much fun! They were friendly and interactive with us and just a blast! We asked for a few songs specifically that were not on the playlist and they learned them and did a fantastic job with their jazz version! They read our event and crowd well, keeping the night perfectly relaxing at dinner, then higher energy music to keep the dance floor packed. Everyone kept commenting on how awesome they were. They completely exceeded our expectations. As a musician myself, the bride, I was blown away by their talent and professionalism. Would highly recommend anybody book them for their event!! Do it!!! You will have an inforferavle day!

Usual Suspects made our event at our home fabulous. The guests couldn’t have been more entertained. Truly a well talented jazz band. I would highly recommend hiring them for events…large or small.

Usual Suspects was a great choice for our 30th wedding anniversary party/celebration. The group is very talented and was able to provide a variety of smooth, jazzy, neosoul selections during the dinner hour of our event. My mother had the opportunity to meet with the group a few weeks prior to the event, and requested that they incorporated Stevie Wonder selections into their set. The group performed what we requested and went above and beyond with our requests. There were selections to please both older and younger crowds. We had so many compliments on the band for the evening! It was a pleasure to book this group and would definitely recommend them again!
They did a great job providing background music for our cocktail hour and dinner hour. Ended up being a four piece group (3 intruments and a vocalist), and their musical selections were great and appropriate for the venue and event type. Easy to work with, I would use them again.

The Usual Suspects formed in 2000 as a traditional jazz trio with piano, bass and drums. Having been influenced by so many other styles of music, it was evident early on that "traditional" was not the word to describe the music. Since 2000, the Usual Suspects has taken on many forms, from traditional and smooth jazz settings, neo-soul and r&b shows , to hosting and backing up spoken word events, and writing and recording original compositions. The Usual Suspects has performed with Ursula Rucker, and Julie Dexter to name a few, and has opened for Me'Shell Ndegéocello and the Roots. The current line up of musicians can be heard together all around St. Louis as a duo, trio, quartet, or even larger ensemble. ..
