Our string quartet is an ensemble based in Edmonds, Washington, composed of four classically trained musicians. We bring our dedication to music and each other to every event, providing a warm, well blended sound. From corporate events to weddings or parties, our extensive repertoire will compliment any occasion. We strive to provide ideal musical selections that will enhance your event.
Vilächel String Quartet MADE my Wedding. They were extremely talented, and brought the atmosphere of my dreams. They are professional, timely, kind, and a wonderful choice for your special occasion! Don’t hesitate- truly, seriously, book with them if you can!
We hired Vilachel for our wedding because, as a string player myself, I know that the most consistently next-best-thing to professionals are high schoolers who are passionate about their craft. (They have all graduated now and I expect that they will likely continue to improve their skills.)
We and our wedding coordinator consistently had some delays in getting in touch with the group via gig salad or email. Eventually we had the most success by texting Andrew.
Communication issues are a minor inconvenience compared to the performance quality and breadth of repertoire list. For our ceremony music we requested somewhat obscure pieces from games and movies we liked and felt matched the theme. They had sheet music for 4/5 already and quickly sourced the remaining one.
The dress rehearsal was a little rough which was partly because one of the violinists had a final exam and had to miss it. Ultimately their performance was beautiful and loved by all.
They also had to make a substitution for one of their players due to a conflict with our wedding date. In my opinion that's not a problem, but rather the fact that we didn't even know that would be happening is a sign of professionalism and demonstrative of how easy they were to work with. They simply took care of it and we didn't have to spare issues like that a thought, which was good in the chaos of wedding planning.
Highly recommended, just make sure to ask them what the best way is to contact them and get contact details for more than one of the players in case one is not available and you have an urgent question.
I had a great experience with Vilachel String Quartet and highly recommend to anyone planning a classy event on a budget! The quartet has an impressive sound, as well as the reliable communication and work ethic of professionals, and delivers a quality performance at a price virtually unheard of for this kind of ability. I booked the group to play thirty minutes of music prior to my wedding ceremony, as well as for the processional music and an exit song. The group went above and beyond in making sure my expectations were met, and were generous with their time, going so far as to offer a complimentary dress rehearsal, and even to continue playing music after the ceremony was over and into the picture time (this was a nice surprise!). Thank you to Vilachel String Quartet for making the ceremony beautiful, elegant, and memorable!
Response from Vilächel String Quartet:
Thank you for your review! We really enjoyed playing at your event, congratulations on a beautiful ceremony!
Our elder cellist legendary Thalia Youth Symphony conductor Frances Walton needed both a driver and a viola to complete our quartet, so we asked for just the young lady who was violist in this group. She was wonderful at coming to the rehearsal a few nights before, and not only driving Frances to the wedding to Everett / Snohomish from Issaquah but also being her companion / handmaiden during the wedding ceremony when we found out it was too far to walk. The Borodin 2nd is a very difficult piece which she practiced for and mastered in 1 rehearsal.
This talented quartet made our event extremely elegant. I highly recommend them.
My bride and I had an outdoor wedding celebration in August 2013. We hired the Vilachel String Quartet to create a musical backdrop to a beautiful setting. They did a wonderful job and our guests had delightful comments on the the musical choice.
There are so many moving pieces to a wedding, and stresses build up rapidly. Vilachel was low maintenance to work with, from the communication, to working out musical choices, to the follow-through on the wedding day. They showed up on time and were aware of timing of the various parts of the wedding. They needed minimal supervision at the wedding, as they were professional and autonomous. They did a great job of quelling any stress that could have arisen in this area.
We hired Vilachel as our string quartet at our September 2012 wedding. The girls are talented, professional, and were very well prepared. Vilachel worked with us to create such a great list of songs. Our guests were very impressed and we'll recommend them to anyone and everyone getting married in the future! Thank you ladies!!
