We hired Vilachel for our wedding because, as a string player myself, I know that the most consistently next-best-thing to professionals are high schoolers who are passionate about their craft. (They have all graduated now and I expect that they will likely continue to improve their skills.)
We and our wedding coordinator consistently had some delays in getting in touch with the group via gig salad or email. Eventually we had the most success by texting Andrew.
Communication issues are a minor inconvenience compared to the performance quality and breadth of repertoire list. For our ceremony music we requested somewhat obscure pieces from games and movies we liked and felt matched the theme. They had sheet music for 4/5 already and quickly sourced the remaining one.
The dress rehearsal was a little rough which was partly because one of the violinists had a final exam and had to miss it. Ultimately their performance was beautiful and loved by all.
They also had to make a substitution for one of their players due to a conflict with our wedding date. In my opinion that's not a problem, but rather the fact that we didn't even know that would be happening is a sign of professionalism and demonstrative of how easy they were to work with. They simply took care of it and we didn't have to spare issues like that a thought, which was good in the chaos of wedding planning.
Highly recommended, just make sure to ask them what the best way is to contact them and get contact details for more than one of the players in case one is not available and you have an urgent question.
