The Wasatch Show Band played for our surprise 40th birthday party through appetizers/drinks then dinner. They were incredible and really made this party so special. Communication was perfect; including taking time ahead of the event to ask for any special requests or song/artist preferences.
The space was much tighter than we were anticipating but not for a moment did that bother the band. They made it all work with not a single complaint!
Did I mention how cool they were too?! I would absolutely hire them again and I sure hope I have a reason to soon because their jazz music was the best!! Everyone at the party was asking where I found them and expressing how incredible they were.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! The birthday boy wanted to “go somewhere and just listen to some jazz music” - we weren’t sure where to do that in the city so thank you for bringing the jazz music to him! Hope to hear you again soon.

Wasatch Show Band is a big band based in American Fork, directed by by John Miller. The group performs big band, jazz, Motown and popular songs from today and years past at local special events, festivals and private parties. With soulful horns, tight vocals and driving rhythms, the Wasatch Show Band is sure to entertain!
The band was formed around 2017, and since that time has been rehearsing 2-3 times per month, playing concerts, events, and even sponsors its own big band dances 2-3 times per year (Valentine's Day, Latin Dance for Cinco de Mayo, and Fall Dance in Sep/Oct).
Along with the ~23 person big band, the Wasatch Show Band also has a small jazz band/combo group of 4-7 people that can be tailored to your party/event needs. The small jazz band is very popular with parties and weddings.
The Wasatch Show Band is a member band of the Wasatch Music Alliance, along with the Wasatch Winds (our classical concert ensemble), and the Timpanogos Chorale. The Wasatch Music Alliance is a 501c3 charitable organization.
In your request for a quote, please let us know if you are searching for a full big band ensemble (e.g., for a large venue, a dance, outdoor concerts, etc.); or if you're looking for a small jazz group for smaller venues and events, background music, etc. The small group can definitely bring down the house as well, but is also suited for refined events, like suit-and-tie dinners, birthday parties, weddings, etc.
The big band is made up of: rhythm section (piano, bass, drums, guitar), sax section (5-7 saxes, alto/tenor/baritone), trombone section (4-5), trumpet section (4-6), and vocals (2-3).
The small jazz combo (jazz band) comprises: rhythm section (piano, bass, drums), and 1-3 instruments (sax, trumpet, trombone, guitar). Vocals are optional, but the most common arrangement is instrumental. We are open to requests on instrumentation (e.g., just a trio, no drums, add vocals, add guitar, or specify the instrument you want - such as a sax or trombone).

We play and sing favorites for everybody! Set lists are very flexible, and we can take request and learn tunes for your event!
