Yui Yamamoto is an artist born and raised in Aichi, Japan. He moved to the city of Boston in the United States in 2007 and graduated from the prestigious Berklee College of Music with a major in music business management in 2010. During his time at Berklee, Mr. Yamamoto worked as a radio DJ on his own radio show called “Project-Y,” which was broadcasted on the Berklee Internet Radio Network (BIRN). He also worked as a stage crew member for many professional shows featuring artists like Paul Simon, James Taylor, Ron Carter, and Ryuichi Sakamoto. Moreover, he served as the president of Asian Students at Berklee (ASAB), a student organization, from 2008 to 2009. In this role, he organized numerous musical events, including multicultural Asian festivals and Japanese Taiko workshops.
In 2012, Mr. Yamamoto moved to Los Angeles where he has worked on important events such as the Ami Ozaki Charity Concert as a music director and sound engineer in 2012, the Coming of Age Ceremony as a composer, sound editor, music director, sound engineer from 2013 to 2019. The Kumamoto Earthquake Relief Event as a keyboardist, DJ, Percussionist, Music Director and Sound Engineer from 2016 to 2017 and the SUMMER CONCERT 2018: JUNKO YAGAMI & SENRI OE’ as a Music Director 2018. Yui has also worked as a judge for a singing
competition at Bridge USA Natsu Matsuri (Japanese Summer Festival) since 2018. Meanwhile, Yui has been a member of the Recording Academy, which has organized the Grammy Awards, since 2021.
Yui Yamamoto has composed original songs for high-profile projects, one example being the song Story, which became an official theme song of Toyota Futsal 2003. He has also composed, produced, and engineered the original song for Toyota Himawari Network (one of Japan’s biggest cable TV stations) 2003, and Believe in Yourself, which became the theme song for LA Team Nadeshiko-kai 2014.
Yui has also released 5 solo albums. These Albums highlight his ability to work across multiple genres with ease and craft uniquely deep powerful songs without losing sight of the commercial realities of the music industry. These albums range from catchy pop songs to house to jazz reinforcing Yui’s desire and passion to not be inhibited by a specific genre.
As a performer, he has established a reputation for himself as a DJ under the stage name 'Yui SensationaL☆'. He has performed at various venues,
including Angel Stadium, the Japanese American National Museum, and Yamashiro Hollywood. Similar to his writing career, when Yui performs, he is not confined to a single genre. He possesses the exceptional ability to accurately gauge the genre and select tracks that resonate with the audience.
Mr. Yamamoto is a composer, DJ, keyboardist, and music producer and his influence can be felt in the United States as well as Japan.
