Overview
UC Berkeley Zahanat is the West Coast's first all-male Fusion dance team. We bridge western and Indian styles to produce a dynamic show for our audience. Our main styles of dance are Bollywood, Bhangra, Kuthu, and Hip Hop. We have performed across the country at nationally recognized competitions. In 2023 so far, we've received 3rd place awards at both Aaja Nachle in Dallas, TX and Tamasha in San Diego, CA. Our team brings energy and passion into every performance to give the audience a show they won't forget!

I hired Zahanat for my wedding reception at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco. Zahanat was definitely one of the highlights of my wedding reception. These guys are so talented and have so much energy. My guests couldn't stop raving about their performance! They were also so easy to work with and the entire process was so seamless. I can't recommend Zahanat enough to bring that something extra to your event.

Good kids. Mohan is a fantastic and diligent organizer. They all came to the venue on time. But dance performances were ok…not super impressed. But as requested they did invite some girls to join. They didn’t use any of my suggested Hindi songs. In spite of several requests to wear colorful Indian garb, this did not happen. So I was disappointed. I know you guys are super busy with internships and other commitments, but work on the choreography and costumes.
When you perform, it needs to be a visually pleasing sight.

Zahanat performed at our wedding reception in San Jose. Everyone loved their performance. The troupe danced on 4 mixes (bollywood and bhangra). The performance was very high energy. I also want to mention the team was very professional. They arrived on time and were polite. I will definitely recommend them to any one looking for a dance troupe.

I was so happy to find such a fun group of dancers to spice up our wedding day! We had 5 dancers pop in after our first dance and parent dances to spice up the night and it WORKED! They did a 5 minute routine which was perfect and then came on the dance floor with our guests for one song. It really got people on the dance floor right away. I was so happy.

Great dancers, easy to work with. Managed to get a hold of one of the members of the team simply by sending an email and handled the booking process all via email/phone. They showed up on time and demonstrated utmost professional. I will definitely call them back in the future.

Wow! These kids are so professional; they were punctual, brought their own equipment, communicated well, and had a great performance! In most performances, the audience just gets bored and talks with each other; because of their amazing storyline and humor, the audience was laughing and cheering till the end!

What to Expect
A high energy performance of a variety of dance styles including: Bollywood, Bhangra, Kuthu, and Hip-Hop. Our performances range from 5-10 minutes. In addition to our performance, we can also offer workshops to anyone who wants to learn a fun dance segment.
About
Founded in UC Berkeley as space for dancers to fuse Indian and other cultures together, Zahanat is an all-male Bollywood fusion dance team. Fourteen years later, Zahanat is a known competitive team that performs all over the country and for events all over the bay. Every team member puts in their time and best effort to forge an unforgettable experience for the audience.
