There is nothing more exciting than the World Series! Afraid to miss a moment of the action, baseball fans around the United States won’t take their eyes off the television for a second. Sounds of cheering, yelling, and booing fill the air during the World Series. It is the perfect opportunity to gather up your family and friends for a party. Tell them to put on their favorite baseball team’s shirts, jerseys, or caps and be ready to have good food and drinks, watch a great game, and have tons of fun. With the help of GigSalad, you’ll be able to throw at party that will make them feel like they are actually at the ballpark watching the game!
Decorations for a World Series party depend on if you are all cheering for one team or if you have a split crowd. If you are cheering for only one team, decorate your space with that team’s colors. If you have two separate teams your guests will be cheering for, use both teams colors. You could even divide the room in half using the middle of the television as your divider line and put each teams colors on one side having the fans for each team sit accordingly. It would stir up some fun rivalry. Use streamer, balloons, and baseball memorabilia like pennants, baseball cards, and jerseys to decorate your space. Beer posters or neon signs are also great ways to make guests feel like they are at the stadium itself. Also, put a home plate on your front porch and a sign on your front door that says welcome to Wilfley Stadium, or whatever your last or first name is, to let attendees know where the party is. Along with that, if you really want to get creative, put astroturf under the main area of your party for a ballpark feel. With all these great decorations your guests will forget that they aren’t at the game!
The main entertainment for a World Series party is obviously the game, but it is always fun to have a few extra activities to entertain guests during the innings or before and after the game. For starters, a betting pool with categories like how many home runs will be hit and by who, who wins, the final score of the game, and whatever other categories you would like your guests to make guesses about. You can post the stats and results on a big scoreboard that you keep updated. Also, baseball trivia is a between inning favorite. During the 7th inning stretch you could print out the words to take me out to the ballgame and have your guests all sing it together. You can also pay homage to the hawkers and have a peanut throwing contest with targets that have different points assigned to them. For before or after the game, music is a great way to get your party goers in the mood to have a good time. Try hiring a cover band, an event DJ, a party band, a top 40 band, or a tribute band to get your guests ready to party. A unique entertainment option is to hire someone to impersonate a baseball icon or have a sports exhibition with the real star doing a demonstration and chatting with guests at your party. With all these fun activities going on and a World Series game to watch, your guests are sure to have an awesome time!
Food for a World Series Party is easy. Simply serve the ballpark basics. Buffet style is easiest in order for your guests to grab food as they please during the game. For snacks, serve popcorn, cracker jacks, and peanuts that people can munch on. Perfect ballgame appetizers are nachos, french fries, and pretzels with cheese and condiments available to top them off with. For the main dishes, have a hot dog and hamburger bar with various types of mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise, relish, and other popular toppings. Serve the condiments out of mini plastic baseball caps for a festive touch. Make your party really easy for yourself and hire a caterer to bring the food to you instead of cooking it on your own. Ice cream, funnel cakes, and cotton candy are great dessert ideas that also stick to your theme. White iced cupcakes with red baseball stitches on them are fun too! A baseball cake or a specially designed cake representing your favorite team in the series or both teams is a great idea. Hire a cake decorator to make a cake that your guests will be sure to admire. Finally, classic baseball game beverages you should serve at your party should include lemonade, beer, and soft drinks. If you want to serve fancier drinks hire a bartender to do your serving and mixing for you. Make sure you keep both your food and drinks in viewing area of the television so your die hard fans don’t miss any of the action!
Remember, planning a party can be a ton of fun, but it takes some work. Hire an event planner if you want a great party, but don’t have enough time to plan it. Be sure you or your event planner uses GigSalad to make the planning process simple and quick.
