Yeah... we wish we could hire the Genie from Aladdin to come and do impressions at our next event, too, but unfortunately he's booked solid 'til the end of eternity. (Is there such a thing as the end of eternity?) Anyways... these real-life professional impressionists are ready to bring the sights and sounds of your favorite celebrities to your upcoming event of any type. You and your guests will be amazed by their uncanny ability to go from John Wayne to Rodney Dangerfield to Barbara Streisand in less than 60 seconds.
An impressionist is a professional comedian who specializes in performing... what else... impressions! An impressionist typically develops a repertoire of celebrity impressions, and adds more celebrity personalities to the repertoire in order to stay on pace with current events or to tailor to your specific event. Though commonly mistaken, impressionists are not the same as impersonators. Impersonators typically look like and perform only as one celebrity. These impressionists have mastered multiple celebrity voices, catchphrases, and mannerisms that they can perform all in one show.
Here’s some things to keep in mind when you’re hiring and impressionist. First, make sure you find an impressionist that specializes in the certain celebrities that you’re dying to see. Next, you should ask the performer if they have any videos from past performances for you to watch. Also ask if they have any references you can contact. You gotta know what you’re gonna be getting! Lastly, talk about all the specifics. For example, will you have to provide any equipment (mics, podiums, etc) for the performer? How big of a performance space will they need? Do they offer any other services or talents? After you follow these simple tips, you’ll be on your way to hosting a perfect event!
