I Do a Tribute to classic Country Music. Different Songs By Johnny Cash, Waylon Jenning, Merle Haggard, Keith Whitley, Willie Nelson ,etc. I Am A 64 Year Old Singer/songwriter From Marshall, Missouri.
Let me first say, I think Art did a okay job, but because he was so late, it was dark outside and most of the guests had left. It messed it up for me and others.
The show was supposed to start around 7pm. Arrival after 830pm. Show started after 9pm. A lot of the guests have left by then. Some never knew why I asked for everyone to be there before 7pm. Only 2 other people knew that I had arranged a special guest to sing for my husband.
First phone call was at 5:54pm stating that he had vehicle problems and was not sure he was going to make it. At that time, I already had a house full of people. Got another call saying he can't get a hold of anyone to help him fix the vehicle. Disappointed. Trying hard not to show any emotion, but of course my husband walks in and noticed how stressed out I looked, and he asked me what's going on. I ended up telling him that his birthday was not going to make it. 7:05pm got a message from Arts girlfriend that they got the vehicle fixed on the way and to call back. I called and was told they are a hour away. Another phone call 8:07pm we are about 20 minutes away. Arrived after 8:30pm and he set up. He had no lights. So hard to take any good pics without lights. Some guests seem to enjoy it and others said they didn't care for it. Hard to hear what he was singing. Not sure my phone will upload for the 1 pic I took, it's dark. I posted it on FB.
I would like to say I think if he would of been there on time, I think we all would of enjoyed it more. I do understand life sometimes gets in the way on things too :) I thank you for the experience. Cathy Lansangan
Response from Art Morgan Classic Country Singer/songwriter And Cover Artist:
We called to let her know we were on our way @ 3:54pm. At %:15pm the tread on our front tire started coming off we called and explained what was happening but we were still trying to get there. At 5:27 we called and told her we didn't think we were going to make it, but were still trying. At 5:47 we called and told her we had called someone who was sending his weekend person. At 5:54 she called and we told her we were still waiting on the guy to come, if he got there soon could we still come on, she said yes. At 7: 05pm we called informed her we were about an hour away and she said okay. Called her again at 8:07 and told her we were 20 minutes out. When we arrived, we were under the understanding that we would be in her garage performing, but that wasn't the case in point. We were put on the driveway to perform in the dark. had I have know I was going to be in the driveway I would have brought my lights. After setting up my equipment, I went and changed into my jumpsuit and then started performing at 9:00pm. I sang until a little after 10:00pm. After my performance I went to change clothes, while my fiance' tore down the equipment. after we got the van loaded with the equipment we were invited to come eat and have cake, while we were inside almost everyone there was telling me how much they enjoyed it. I was never told anything about no one being upset. I'm sorry the tire problem happened, but that was beyond my control. So you can see too, there was more than just two phone calls from us. There was four before she said we called. As for not being able to understand what I was singing, there were kids running around and talking and shouting very loud, so it might have been hard to understand some of my songs. I even did request that they had asked for, that wasn't on my performance track. I really am sorry this happened but like I said it wasn't planned it was a freak turn of nature.
Great Job everyone enjoyed the Show....highly recommend! Thank you Elvis.
