Belly Dance By Jeylan

Jeylan will delight your group with a variety of both traditional and modern music and spectacular costuming! She likes to offer a combination of quick finger cymbal playing, mystifying veil maneuvers, and opportunities for the audience to dance with her. She is always happy to pose with guests during the performance as well as provide staged photo opportunities afterwards. At family and children’s parties Jeylan is often accompanied by her middle school daughter dressed as a genie. Her young helper encourages children to participate by dressing them in borrowed coin scarves and turbans. At adult parties Jeylan’s character is friendly, flirtatious, peppy, and fun! At women’s events Jeylan will bring coin scarves for the ladies and teach a mini lesson of basic dance moves and combos. Holiday music and costuming available, such as for Halloween and Christmas parties.

Coming from a theater and dance family Jeylan has been dancing and performing all her life and loves it! Her enthusiasm easily spreads to all those who see her perform. As a busy mom of two with a Master of Teaching degree she knows how to engage a crowd and encourages interaction with all ages. For over a decade she has been the founder, choreographer, and artistic director of Treasures in the Sand Mid-Eastern Dance Troupe which enjoys regular performances at senior care facilities and nursing/rehab centers as well as local festivals and special events. Jeylan’s specialties include improvisational dance at area restaurants, Arabian Princess/Prince parties for children, empowering dance lessons for women's events, and bellygrams to celebrate retirements and birthdays of all ages. Performances usually include props such as finger cymbals and veils. Holiday themes available.

Jeylan can perform in almost any space, though she prefers it to include a clear area which is at least 5 ft x 5t; the larger the staging area the more she can do! She can bring a cd/mp3 player for your sound system or her own portable Bose music player.
