A native of Washington D.C., Bruce Wayne began singing and dancing on the street corners of Harlem at the tender age of five. His early roots in the Pentecostal church brought him local acclaim having sung with various gospel greats as The Mighty Clouds Of Joy, The Golden Sons Of Brooklyn and Alvin Greene And The Unlimited Sounds. The fire and showmanship of such legends as James Brown, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Jackie Wilson and others, help shape his singing style and stage mastery into an undeniable depth and realness few contemporary performers posses.
Bruce Big Daddy Wayne has performed in such notable rooms as The City Winery, The Russian Tea Room, Jones Beach, Symphony Space, The Howard Theater, The Paramount Theater and other world renowned venues. In 2005, Bruce Big Daddy Wayne was the guest of honor and headlining act at the annual Feast De’ Saint Marie in Guadeloupe. Bruce Big Daddy Wayne has received numerous awards and honors among them were best new artist by The Cabaret Clubs of New York. He is a frequent musical guest on The Ebony and Ivory Show WVIP- a radio program broadcasted in New Rochelle, New York and WHCR FM City College Radio in new York City.
Bruce Big Daddy Wayne has performed on stage with legendary performers such as, Bobby Womack, Freddie Jackson, Lauren Hill, The Commitments, Ben E King, Southside Johnny, Gordon Chambers, Elisabeth Withers (star of the hit play The Color Purple), SOLO, Bernard Purdie, Digital Underground, and many others. Bruce Big Daddy and was also the front man for the late Wilson Pickett's longtime backing band The Midnight Movers. His current band, The Soul Messengers, has entertained audiences from around the world. A notable producer, songwriter and a member of ASCAP, He is also the founder of The Bruce Wayne Music Group- an entertainment and consulting company located in New York. Crowned The King Of Retro Soul by his peers, he continues to be an ambassador and voice among the legends of Soul Music
