Classically trained violist. Will play anything from classical pieces, fun pop songs, traditional or contemporary worship music, or any other genre requested. Can play solo or with an ensemble.
Katie has played many times for our church services at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Westlake Village, CA, with great results. For our Easter Service this year during the Coronavirus pandemic, she was able to play for us remotely by recording her viola parts in D.C. to a guide track and texting the files back to us in CA. Excellent job!
We were all very touched by Katie's performance for my dad's birthday party. She worked with us readily on all our questions: payment, songs to play, etc. Not sure who was more nervous at the beginning, we (who had planned this surprise for dad) or she (who had to stand out in the cold on our deck among a bunch of strangers)! But in the end it all went well. Thank you, Katie!

Since beginning viola lessons at age nine, I have been passionate about music. I come from a very musical family and grew up playing for friends, in school, at church, and many other places. While earning my undergraduate degree at American University, I minored in Music Performance and participated in the school's symphony orchestra. I am now a law student at William & Mary, but I still love to seek out opportunities to play my viola and share my music with others. Throughout my years of experience, I have become knowledgeable of a wide variety of classical, pop, worship, fiddle, and other genres of music, and I am happy to perform any type requested.
For smaller-scale events, such as those in a home or at a birthday party, I will most likely not need a microphone. However, if the event you are planning is for a large group of people or in a large venue, a microphone may be necessary.
