Dominic has embraced an unbelievable journey from committing a horrific murder at age thirteen to becoming a present day mentor and productive member of society. His captivating story is inspirational and educational. Inspiring others to thrive is Dominic's passion. Embrace this opportunity to become inspired and motivated!
The Walls 2 Bridges initiative is an attempt to inspire humanity to rekindle a passion to thrive. We become imprisoned by the same emotional walls that we originally erect to protect us. It is time to overcome that false sense of security and begin embracing the connection that will help us thrive.
I had the good fortune to moderate a panel of young adults who presented to more than sixty juvenile court judges at the first Pennsylvania Juvenile Justice Academy. Dominic captivated the audience with his presentation. He was prepared, energetic and relaxed as he spoke to the audience. His warm and engaging manner allowed the audience to joining with him as he explained his experience in the juvenile justice system. Over the past forty five years, I have had the opportunity to listen to many speakers. It is very uncommon for someone as young as Dominic to be able to communicate so well with an audience. He has great potential as a public speaker and has already developed his skills beyond his years.
Dominic served as the Keynote Speaker for the Youth Rally at the 2013 Pennsylvania Crime Victims Rally at the State Capitol. He connected with his audience quickly and held their attention as he explained his experience in the Pennsylvania Juvenile Justice System. His energetic and engaging manner allowed him to relate to the young people in the audience. It was also clear that Dominic enjoys public speaking and that he feeds off the energy of the audience. At the end of his presentation, he was invited back to be part of the 2014 Rally.
I recently asked Dominic to speak to a group of adjudicated youth about the impact of crime. He had the whole audience sitting on the edge of their seats. Dominic spoke from a personal perspective and related real life events. His honesty captured the attention of the young people while his willingness to answer the very tough questions kept them engaged. He demonstrated a remarkable understanding of the impact of crime along with the realization that some crimes cause crime victims life-changing harm. He closed his presentation with the conviction that the youth could make better choices, change the course of their lives, and become valuable members of society. I would not hesitate to engage Dominic again.
I have had the oportunity to invite and listen to Mr. Roma speak to our client base with the age range 12 to 18 years old. The clients are identified as high risk for disruptive behavior in al areas of thiers lives. When Mr. roma began to tell his story he had a captivated audience. Then he was able to relate his experience to the past positive and negative influences of his life that became a major trigger for his choices. The responsse of the clients were overwelming. They were all able to relate to the emotions and trigger response. The interactive presentation allowed the clients to understand how the walls of the past became a bridge to his future. Mr. Romas presentation seemed to have planted a seed in many of our clients lives and I have the oportunity to watch the transformation of some since the presentation. I would highly recommend Mr. Roma speak to youth and adults struggling with depression, bullying and high risk behaviors.
Dominic has been asked to speak at our center several times. We serve a population of at-risk youth ages 10-18 years old with extremely diverse criminal or mental health backgrounds. Dominic's speak is appropriate for our diverse population and he is able to keep our clients captivated. We hire several guest speakers and Dominic is in our top 3! When our clients wrote a response letter after listening to his presentation, comments were made such as: "his story has changed my life" and "I know now that I can overcome adversity no matter what!" He leaves our clients feeling motivated to become successful members of society. I would highly recommend Dominic to adults or teens that are in need of leadership skills, motivation, or even entertainment. Dominic's presentations will stay in your mind forever because his story is unforgettable!
I had the opportunity to attend a few of Dominic Vito Roma's speaking events. The experience of listening to Dominic speak, watching the engagement of the youth and his way of keeping people captivated with his interesting information and true life story is amazing! Dominic's presentations are meaningful and life changing to youth and adults alike. I was very honored to be a part of these events and knew that each person was touched in the way they needed it the most!

I am a dynamic and charismatic speaker. Always engaging and straight to the point. I love to laugh and I am very passionate about living life moment by moment and learning how to maximize positive potential. Life is too short to be caught in the vicious circle that most of us end up in, so for those moments that we are together I attempt to pop the bubble of insanity that seeks to cut you off from your true potential and purpose. I am very appreciative of everyone that books my services and I will always attempt to ensure that there are no doubts as to whether or not my performance was of maximum impact.
September 17, 1995... At a time when the average teenager is consumed with identity struggles and social acceptance, I was facing a criminal sentence of 25 years to life in a maximum security state prison facility for murder. The road to this horrific circumstance was paved with with insecurity, bullying, low self-esteem, frustration, defensiveness and a lack of understanding about feelings and effective communication. This lack of ability to identify and process my hurt and suffering finally led me to a catastrophic situation. I allowed myself to end up in a circumstance that resulted in a homicide. A young person lost their life because of my reluctance to deal with life on life's terms.
After over a year of court proceedings, I was transferred to Pennsylvania's juvenile system and I remained under the Juvenile Court's supervision until my twenty first birthday. After spending nearly six years in a maximum security juvenile facility where I worked on discovering the origin of my catastrophic decision, becoming aware of my pain and learning how to process hurt and to feel empathy, as well as, learning to understand the devastating impacts of my decisions, I slowly earned the opportunity to be moved to a less restrictive facility in 2001. I spent the next year and a half acclimating to a new reality. I was released from incarceration after almost eight years and I immediately began applying all of the truths that I had internalized throughout my journey.
I remind myself, daily, of the obstacles that I have overcome and of the lives that I have destroyed. I now believe that my life is better spent helping others than hurting them. I understand that I will never fully repair the damage that I have done, but I have chosen to continue to share my experience and truth with others. I hope that what I offer will inspire someone to open up and trust people to help them become a better human being. Hurt people hurt other people, and I want to help others understand that they have the power to end that cycle. My story provides hope and it might just inspire you to learn how to trust again and motivate you to build and re-build emotional bridges instead of walls!
A simple shift in your perspective will help you close the gap between your current emotional vulnerability and the courage to embrace the life that was meant to be yours. Accept this opportunity to be motivated and most importantly, inspired! I am a dynamic, engaging and genuine person. I love to laugh and I am very passionate about living life moment by moment, while learning how to maximize positive potential. I believe that life is too short to waste and I will attempt to help you crumble the walls of insanity that have imprisoned your happiness.
I am extremely appreciative for any opportunity to connect with people and my my goal is always to have a maximum impact on my audience. I currently live a very appreciative life and I have been fortunate enough to find employment working with kids who are in need of as much help as I was at their age. I have developed my own definition of success over the years and I am so thankful that I have the opportunity to strive for it. Thank you for your investment of time and interest!
