Don is a wonderful classical guitarist. He was communicative, punctual, and very nice. He set a beautiful atmosphere for our wedding.
Don provided music for my wedding ceremony. He learned and played the procession and recession songs that we requested, and he played classical music while the guests were waiting for the ceremony to start. I believe he even created his own arrangement for the song requests as we only provided some YouTube videos of people playing the songs. He was dressed nicely in a suit and was set up on time. And he played our outdoor ceremony with all of his equipment even though it was sprinkling out and we weren’t sure if it was going to rain or not. He played beautifully.
That’s all the professional stuff. Other than that I think Don seems to be a nice guy and he makes a lot of hilarious and goofy jokes. I was happy to have him play at my ceremony.
Don played at my wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. He was GREAT, and went above and beyond learning two special song requests and flexibly adjusting to a venue change to a place with no electrical outlets! Don made our day truly magical and I would recommend him to anyone.
My family and friend really enjoyed the music
So I had an idea to do something classy for my wife's 50th birthday party.
It turned out to be a very good decision. I found a good restaurant nearby and then I began my search for a classical guitarist to play during dinner with many family members. Lucky for me I found one, Don was the best choice, everyone was impressed. And let me tell you, not only is he a nice guy he's a true professional.
He had a long drive to the event and despite a snow storm he still arrived in time to set up and get ready to give a great performance. Unfortunately the restaurant provided him with a little less space in a high traffic area than was originally planned.
But Don handled it with grace, he was determined to not let those obstacles stop him from playing for us. His talent was definitely noticed by the lucky patrons who happened to be in the dining room with us and also in the bar area. Great compliments were expressed to me and my guests from everyone... " where did you find that guy, he's really great ! " and " Wow that is such a great idea, he's really talented " One couple said they had been coming to that restaurant every couple months for a few years and this by far was the most enjoyable time they ever had there. Don's performance really set the atmosphere for the entire place. I booked him for 2hrs but the dinner went past our agreed time. Noticing the time I went over to him to pay him for the evening but he said " Your dinner is not over yet and I don't want to leave your event until you are done, I can't leave you like that. " so he played another 20mins for us. Of course I gladly added my appreciation to his tip and deservedly so. My wife thanked me over and over for the evening and said that Don's music made the whole evening the best time ever. Also I would like to add that there was no " finger squeal " when changing finger positions on the fret board, a very clean execution of finger pressure and timing filled the air with many clean and delicate notes. THANK YOU DON !
Response from Don DeBold "Classical Guitarist ":
Neal,
It was a pleasure to play for good people. Thank you for the wonderful review.
As far as your critique of my playing .... again,.... I had no room for a monitor and all I could hear was my low end bass notes... couldn't hear much or anything of my high end notes for some of those Flamenco/Spanishy tremolos... it was frustrating for me but I guess "muscle memory" must have gotten me through....
Above all I hope "the Birthday Girl" was pleased for she was for who I was mainly playing for.
I actually had a better time than you'd think.... cool people... I'm used to working with a bunch of "snoots".... Thanks for being a "down to earth".

Don played music for our wedding ceremony, and he was wonderful to work with. Scouted the venue beforehand, and showed up on time to play. He played beautifully and it really made our ceremony. He gladly agreed to learn a specific piece for us and performed it beautifully. Even though our ceremony ran late (due to guest transportation) Don was patient and gracious. We would definitely hire him for another event or recommend him for another couples' wedding. Bravo!
Our wedding was even more beautiful and memorable because of Don. When we were seeking out music ideas, some friends recommended Don because they heard him play at another event and had been very impressed by his music. When we looked him up we knew we had found a real treasure of a musician, perfect for our ceremony and cocktail hour. We were very lucky to get him for our Christmas Eve wedding, and he provided the “elegant air” we were seeking... live classical guitar from someone truly talented (and not too expensive either!) What a wonderful evening we had, and Don's music was just right to celebrate us and our guests as we joined our lives as one. So happy we hired him! Don't hesitate, he's impressive (and a nice guy too) and made our wedding even more lovely. Thanks Don!

Music Bio: Don DeBold
Don's Love of guitar began on Christmas Day when he was 9 years old and received his first guitar... a beginners nylon stringed Classical Guitar.
Don's dedication and proficiency on the instrument would attract the attention of re-known performer and instructor Ignacio Vecchio who accepted Don as one of his very few protege possibilities. Classical and Spanish/Flamenco style would become the focus of study.
Don's private, one-on-one instruction continued for years until Don's appetite for musical diversity began to bloom. The Electric Guitar was cool ... Mr. Vecchio didn't agree ! ...
In his late teens Don's touring career as Lead Guitarist in various Rock and Metal bands ensued with such bands as Black Rose, the Answer, and Rise throughout the Northeastern U.S. Later, Don felt the need to once again begin Classical instruction but Ignaccio Vecchio had by now passed away. After a tedious search the legendary performer Stephen Pearson was found and Pearson agreed to accept Don for private one-on-one study. Stephen Pearson's teaching style intrigued Don and influenced Don's love of teaching the instrument as well.
After 12 years as staff instructor at Imperial Guitar and Soundworks Music School in Newburgh,N.Y. Don currently teaches at "the New York School of Music" in Walden, N.Y. offering instruction styles from Classical and Flamenco (including A.B.R.S.M. exam prep. courses for all levels... the model for the U.S.'s Juilliard School... the Associates Board of the Royal Schools of Music... recognized world-wide and throughout the current and former British Empire's dominions as the standard of Classical Music Curriculum ) , Blues, Rock, Metal, Shred, Jazz, Country, and General Instruction for beginners and most recently offering all afore-listed at K-Town Studios of Kingston, N.Y. in addition to performing at a plethora of venues.
Some of the venues Don's guitar playing has added elegance and sophistication to (casual and formal) includes :
- Wedding Ceremonies, Receptions, Cocktail Hours, and Dinner Hours
- Corporate Events (for some reason Car Dealerships have been big for the past few years... and... Spas... ?!...yup ! ... ?
- Restaurant Ambiance Performance (especially in quaint Italian Themed Settings)
- Wine Tastings
- Private Parties ( including Holiday Parties, Christenings, etc.)
- Special Events ( such as the "Black Tie" U.S. Marine Corps Birthday Bash at Anthony's Pier 9 in New Windsor, N.Y. ... November 9, of 2014... for Dignitaries, Politicians, Marine Officers Only and their families... approximately 850+ in attendance that enjoyed and cheered in military style Don's very special mix of music that included everything from Bach to the Beatles to Linkin' Park played in Classical and Spanish/Flamenco style.
Don's vast repertoire of arrangements (many of his own arrangements) played in Classical and Spanish/Flamenco Styles includes :
- From Bach and Mozart through Beethoven and beyond.
- From Chopin through "the Russian Five" and beyond.
- From Aguado, Tarrega, Villa-Lobos, and all Spanish and Flamenco Styles and beyond.
- Standards from Richard Rogers and soon to be considered Classical Music... compositions by Lennon, McCartney, and Harrison (the Beatles)
- Christmas and Holiday Favorites : (Such as everything from "White Christmas", "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town", Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, etc....)
- Ethnic (mainly Italian Favorites).... such as many of "the Godfather" movies featured themes... Hey, Mambo... Arrivederci Roma ...etc.
- Contemporary and Modern Hits (from Muse to John Mayer to Linkin' Park to Maroon 5 to Taylor Swift and John Legend and beyond....all Don DeBold arrangements>)

Require Access to electrical outlets for Sound-Re-inforcement (P.A.)... the Classical Guitar and most other acoustic instruments does not project well without (P.A Equipment) especially outside and also inside depending mostly on size of venue and number
