Ellis's set list is flexible and he will gladly learn anything he is asked to sing. He generally sings Golden Age style music (1920s-1940s) by composers such as Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, George Gershwin and many more in the style of the crooners of that time period (Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bing Crosby). He also engages in audience banter depending on the type of event.
Having started working as an actor in NYC at age 10, Ellis Gage comes from an impressive professional background. He has worked in musical theatre and opera on productions, recordings, concert appearances of all kinds with composers such as Pasek and Paul, Kooman and Dimond, Stephen Schwartz, and Glen Roven. Ellis has been studying jazz vocals for the last six years and was a regular singer at numerous receptions/events of former Mayor Michael Bloomberg. He sang with New England's Point 'n' Swing Band for years and sang standard material at retirement homes for community service. After graduating from St. Mark's School in Southborough MA where he was awarded the Stanley J. Shepherd Prize in Music, Ellis moved back to NYC and continues his work as an actor but ventures to find opportunities to perform as a jazz vocalist when he can. He will soon be appearing in the new American version of the group "The FlyBoys" of Simon Cowell's Pitch Battle, BBC in the US (a male vocal group of four that sings jazz arrangements of pop music).
