We were disappointed to say the least. Booked our event well in advance of the scheduled party for this past Saturday night starting time 6:00. Got a text just after 2:00 saying bartender can't make and I will refund your money. No explanation. No apology. No attempt to find a backup. No return call or text. Nothing else to write other than it put us in a real bind, and we had to scramble just to find someone who could help us last minute.

We host large events at our school at least twice a year, and we've had great experiences with Neil and the Emerald City Cocktails team. Neil is very responsive and easy to work with leading up to and on the event day. His staff always arrives on time, acts professional, and takes great care of our guests. Their full bars always look amazing in our event spaces. Our fall event this year went great and we look forward to working with ECC again in the future!

Neil and team did a brilliant job serving drinks with fun and flair at both our Friday night Welcome Party and the Wedding Reception Saturday! Highly recommend Emerald City Cocktails!

Neil is the amazing person and professional bartender. We booked him for our party and he stole every body heart with his amazing service.

Horrible communication. Booked two months in advance. Sent a couple messages during that time about details and no response after booking. Had fast replies until I booked and paid. Then …. Never heard back with questions until two days before via internet messaging asking to call the next day to go over final details. Responded back with absolutely with phone number again and no response. Never got questions answered. Called 8 times Thursday and Friday (day of event), texted, used online messaging thru GigSalad several times. Messages even said “seen” and NO RESPONSE. Calls were silenced and sent to voicemail Received a message (not even a phone call) via internet 20 minutes before the reception claiming he had been in an accident and was stuck in Tacoma and said he had been texting. Sorry - it’s been crickets, nothing on my phone, online or texts. Responded back and guess what? Never heard anything back after that. Big surprise huh? We had to scramble to get non-alcoholic drinks and paper products as we had taken out the additional lemonade/tea/water package. A licensed bartender was required for the reception hall - never again would I call or EVER recommend this place. Ceremony and reception was delayed almost a hour because of the scramble and run to Walmart and Winco to get drinks, ice, coolers, and cups. Now get to fight to get a full refund. Have screenshots from all messages and no responses as well as texts and phone calls. If you want a no show , chaos and scrambling then call this place and book. Otherwise save yourself a lot of stress and hassle and go with someone else.

Neil was a hit with my guests. Super friendly and engaged the whole night. The drinks were amazing and had a variety to pick from. The end to end process was easy and fun to plan with him.

Neil was friendly, responsive and all around a great bartender who gave us excellent advice during our consultation and great service for our wedding. Would definitely highly recommend!

Everything was perfect. Amanda did an amazing job keeping the line moving. She mixed our signature drink perfectly and had the nicest personality. She was an absolute pleasure to talk to. We hired Emerald City Cocktails for a small wedding serving a full bar. Neil was awesome! From consultation, answering every single question we had in a timely manner and offering suggestions when we didn’t know what to choose. Helping us create a shopping list and advising on quantities, creating a mock tail, we felt very prepared.

the planning and pre event communication was great - sometimes it was a few days between emails but that is to be expected. once the event was over and I asked to talk about the problems .... NO Communication

The problems included; sending the correct bartender at the wrong time and then rerouting her to a different event, the replacement "bartender" did not provide payed for fresh squeezed juice, did not know how to make the signature cocktail, did not use a jigger to mix the drinks, did not use lemons, limes or oranges for garnish.

instead of a of a professional bartender the service seemed like a "frat house" drink pourer. I emailed Neil Ratliff of Emerald City Cocktails twice ( sunday and monday) to discuss the issues and try to recover some of the money I spent on items that were not provided. He has not responded.

I would not use the company again

We worked with Neil and had a great experience at our 7/22/23 wedding at Black Diamond Gardens. All of our guests loved the signature drinks (Neil made it so easy for us to decide what to pick). We had a little leftover, but nothing was excessive. Neil really knows the numbers when it comes to how much to buy. It was an easy shopping experience and we had the perfect amount of alcohol. Neil was friendly and professional and attentive throughout the whole process, including the day of our wedding. Our guests were really happy. We are really happy with Emerald City Cocktails. I started planning our anniversary party in January of 2023. Upon contacting Neil to obtain a quote for his bar services at our anniversary party, to the day of our event, Neil has been superb in communication and follow through on all of his promises and obligations to make our party fabulous!!!

One of the things that impressed my husband and I the most about Neil and Emerald City Cocktails is how very accommodating Neil was with our requests, our concerns, or questions we had, or he helped us with any obstacles that we encountered with the venue as we planned our party. My husband and I felt relieved that we had come across someone like Neil who is knowledgeable, honest, trustworthy, upfront and above all, has experience in this field.

The cherry on top in hiring Neil was an incident that occurred during our anniversary party. A guest who happens to be a successful and popular wedding planner in the area said to me, “I love how Neil is very attentive to your guests and I appreciate how he worked the room, filling up the wine glasses etc. You hired a very good bar service and bartender for you party. How did you happen to come across him and this company. Did you attend a friend's wedding and that's how you came across him?” It was quite a compliment for us for the guest (a wedding planning) to share her positive feedback about Neil and Emerald City Cocktails with us.

Another magnificent thought that I wanted to share about hiring Neil and Emerald City Cocktails is having him there really elevated the ambiance of the room and his presence gave our party an element of elegance and sophistication! More importantly, Neil was prompt and on time for the party. In addition, his bar services were very affordable and reasonable!

The only negative and really it's not a negative, it's just a sign that he and Emerald City Cocktails are in high demand! When we have our next party, we will need to book with Neil at least six or seven months in advance. On rare occasions he has cancellations and he may be available, but spring and summer months are his "wedding season months." I believe it too, because the caterers and bar service companies that I called in Lacey, Olympia and Tumwater in the beginning planning stages of my party were completely booked as of 2022 and apologizes for not being able to cater my party. Needless to say, I felt very fortunate when Neil stated he was available for the day of our party. On to more positive thoughts...

We found Neil to be professional, easy to work with, friendly and outgoing. Our guests loved him! My husband and I made the decision that Neil and Emerald City Cocktails will be our "go to" bar service going forward!! Yes, we highly recommend Neil and Emerald City Cocktails!! Unfortunately I didn't get the name of the bartender that was actually there the day of our wedding but she was fabulous, she did an amazing job. Everyone said the drinks were amazing and no one could stop talking about the empress gin lavender lemonade. There were a few hiccups in the communication with Neal the owner leading up to the wedding, just a missed email and a confusion over a recipe but nothing major and he was always super cool about clearing things up and everything worked out day of. There seems like maybe there was some confusion over the simple syrup for the lavender lemonade cause the bartender brought premade syrup but I also made my own and it looks like she used some of what I made but also opened the stuff she brought but it's whatever, like I said the drinks were amazing and on the day of your wedding the no one really cares if the lavender syrup is homemade so long as the drink gets them drunk.

I had Neil tend a wine/sparkling water bar for a group of about 15 sophisticated arts leaders and he did an outstanding job. Arrived early; set up quick; paid just the right amount of attention to the guests during the event wandering through and refilling glasses as needed. Several organizations asked for his card so they could hire him for their events. I had to leave to take the guest both inert I dinner but a friend checked in Neil’s clean up and it was impeccable. I would hire Neil and Emerald City again without question. Grab him for your event.

We hired Emerald City Cocktails for our pre-wedding Mehndi-Sangeet-Meet & Greet night and they were wonderful! The team was punctual, consistent, and friendly. Our start-to-finish process with them was a breeze.

Our planned bartender for our wedding fell through with 3 weeks notice and we found Emerald City Cocktails. We felt so bad that we gave Neil and team such short notice, but he was able to put everything together and it was wonderful! This company was a no-show for my event. Not only did he not show up…The bartender was responsible for bringing crucial supplies. Water, and serving cups for all beverages.
He did not return my calls. I will demand a refund for all monies paid.

Bartender was amazing!

We hosted a small cocktail party in our home for about 40 people. We hired Emerald City Cocktails for bartending services. The communication prior to the event was great, very helpful for planning the menu and shopping list, the bartender showed up early for set up, got my husband and I settled in with our first cocktails and then proceeded to impress our guests all night. We will certainly use Emerald City Cocktails for future events!

We hosted a small birthday poker night with family and Neil was the perfect addition! The drinks didn’t stop flowing and they were SO good. he was super flexible with our wonky setup (we were staying in an Airbnb with no parking) and that was so appreciated.

I stumbled on Neil with emerald city cocktails and booked with them for my wedding in October 2022. Not only was the booking process easy, but they were flexible with options that fit our budget and gave great advice in the area of bar tops for events. We ended up deciding to rent a bartender and a bar top along with all supplies, then provided all the alcohol ourselves. Neil gave amazing advice on what alcohol to get and how much of each to get. The day of the wedding I had a few other vendors not follow through with what they were paid to do, but Neil and emerald city cocktails was certainly not one of them. Neil showed up on time, got everything set up, and didn’t need any help or have any questions for me, which was refreshing and kept me stress free. I got compliments from all of my guests on how cool and charming he was, and how professional the bar area looked. At the end of the event Neil went above and beyond cleaning the area up, and boxing up/organizing the extra alcohol for us to take home later. If you want a reliable, amazing bartending service that you know will show up and do their job excellently and professionally then book these guys. They’re freaking ROCK!!!!!

Hired Emerald City Cocktails for our wedding. Great service and great cocktails! Would recommend them for weddings or other special events!

I had a request that cocktails only be served during cocktail hour, no shots, no drinks other than the signature cocktails were to be made and none of that was followed.
We had a keg and they stopped serving the beer because they ran out of cups. They were also supposed to provide the equipment to pump the beer out of the keg and they didn’t provide that.
The drinks tasted fine, they brought the correct garnishes. But overall I was disappointed that all of my requests went ignored and now I have to deal with a full keg instead of an empty one because they didn’t bring enough cups that they are supposed to provide.
Communication with Neil was fine, I always got a response. Nothing was over the top fantastic nor was anything horrible.
If I could go back again, I would make sure to explicitly explain to the bartender that will be at your event exactly what you want, because the owner does not pass that information on.

Chris was excellent. On time quick and personable. The other bartender was not quite up to standard. She was late and there were a few unfortunate issues. Chris can fill you in on all of the details. Or you can call me to discuss.

Emerald City did bartending for our wedding in Wenatchee WA and they were great. We worked with Neil to create and pick two signature cocktails. He also put together a bartending checklist to guide us for quantities of different kinds of beverages and counts of glasses.
Chris was our bartender day of and he was great. Several guests commented on how they enjoyed chatting with him and the cocktails were VERY tasty. We did a cucumber basil gin refresher and a blackberry brandy bramble.
They brought everything and cleaned it all up. Also put together a menu with all of our somewhat assorted beverages.

My husband and I had a backyard wedding reception and Emily was our bartender. She showed up on time and was all set up by the time the guests arrived. I had guests tell me she memorized their drinks and we had about 100 people in attendance. So, I find this impressive! I wasn’t around the bar too much but from what I observed she was quick and friendly (even to some obnoxious people later in the evening).

Neil was great in organizing the service and provided us with a checklist that we’d need beforehand. This was very helpful! He also suggested event insurance which is something I hadn’t even thought of. I also loved the options to add on mixers and ice, these are small touches that allowed us more time to get ready on the day of instead of worrying about picking up ice last minute.

I would most definitely hire again in the future for a large event.

The company emerald city cocktails reached out to us and checked up on us a few times and few days before our wedding to confirm information witch was great because a few thing tend to slip the mind when planning a wedding on my own. The ECC team put together great signature cocktails, helped with alcohol volume recommendations, and made sure there was almost never a line to get drinks at our wedding. Great experience!

Our bartender Chris showed up with plenty of time prior to our event to set up, and handled the event with professionalism, courtesy and a chill vibe. He was exactly what we wanted for our party -- low key, made great drinks, and was kind to all, including the cat. The call with Neil prior to the event also deserves a shout out, as does the checklist provided for shopping. In short, Emerald City Cocktails made the "drinks" part of our event super easy and manageable. Would highly recommend this company to anybody.

We had a large wedding and there was never really a line for the bar! Multiple guests reached out to tell me how awesome they thought our bartenders were! Communication before the event was not as good as I hoped, but it’s also a crazy wedding season. If your thinking about booking them, DO IT!!

Overall the bartending at our wedding was well received by our guests and our open bar and signature cocktails were served as we had hoped. There were some things we had wished would have gone better and then one event that was really disappointing to hear about from a couple of our guests. We were unaware that we were not allowed to have table wine during our dinner, and very disappointed that we then did not have the expensive glassware rentals specifically for the dinner wine put out as we were notified only just before the ceremony that the wine would only be served from behind the bar and that the bartender would not be flexible to allow the licensed caterer to serve the wine at the tables which resulted in the wine pairings that were selected for our plated meals not being served at all unless guests took their own initiative to go get wine from the bar which was still then a free for all of what they got as we had several wines to select from but only one red and one white that were specifically selected for our meal pairings. I can let that go as a miscommunication and would only hope that this could be better explained for out of state couples in the future. The other disappointing event however was something we are still upset about. We had purchased a selection of fine whiskeys and scotch for that were meant to be reserved for drinking on their own (without mix). It was noticed at one point in the night by two individual guests who recounted what happened next to us separately that our bartender was using one of the $300 bottles of whiskey to mix a whiskey and Coke. Given we returned from the wedding and still had some Costco whiskey that was purchased for mixing sent back with us I don’t understand why that was ever done. The individuals both reported that when the bartender was confronted about this that his response was “Don’t worry the couple can afford it”. That was the most upsetting part to hear about. While it is true that we did spend a larger than average amount on our wedding (which we paid for ourselves without large amounts of expendable funds) and taking into account that it perhaps was another miscommunication about the intentions of the more expensive liquor to still find out that when it was being pointed out that the more expensive whiskey wasn’t intended for mixing, that this was their response was unsettling, insulting and unprofessional. Again we for the most part got what we had paid for, and our guests were well served and none the wiser to the miscommunications about the intended situation for dinner wine and glassware. I also hope that this was an isolated occurrence in terms of business practice as I really hate to leave a bad review and do wish the best for them as a small local, environmentally friendly business, however I cannot say that we would work with Emerald City Cocktails personally again.

Neil and Emerald City Cocktail were the perfect compliment to my wedding reception. Neil was on the ball with serving our complete open bar including our two signature cocktails (white peach Bellinis and prickly pear Moscow mules) . Our guests felt well attended to the entire night, and as the bride I felt even better with knowing that my bar was eco-friendly. Would definitely recommend Neil and Emerald City Cocktails to bartend other events.

Through calls, e-mails, and Pinterest Boards, Neil was able to help us come up with craft cocktails for our event as well as provided us with mocktail options for our non-drinker friends. I believe our bartenders were Chris and Briana? They were fast, efficient, very friendly, and personable. I'm very glad I selected ECC and will recommend them to friends for future weddings and events.

Even thought I was booking at the last minute during very busy holiday season, Neil managed to pull everything together and work with me on a special cocktails menu that changed a few times before we settled on the final version. Anything we could come up with, both traditional cocktails like Manhattan or Whiskey Sour, or anything new and kinda crazy she could compose with perfection and it was delicious. The setup time, the cleanup, the bar setting, everything was done quickly and on time and was very well thought out. Emerald City Cocktails helped me figure out how much of what types of beverages to buy which was super helpful. I appreciated that the bar tender had a QR code for tipping which makes tipping way easier for guests. She was very friendly and everything went smooth!

8/10 the bartender was great (we provided our own liquor from costco) however there was just a small hiccup at the beginning of the cocktail hour where he made both of our signature drinks incorrectly (still delicious) even though the proper ingredients were on the menu, this only was an issue because he added sour mix to both drinks and we didn't purchase enough for that so within an hour he had erased our signature cocktails off the board and stopped serving them. I quickly corrected this and taught him how to make the drinks properly, just a small hiccup and our drinks were then served all night:)

We hired Emerald City Cocktails for our September 2021 wedding and we have no regrets! The bartender was friendly and kept the bar looking very welcoming and professional. When I first reached out to Neil, we set up a quick call to go over the details for the event and types of cocktails we wanted to serve, including 2 specialty cocktails. From there he sent over a personalized shipping list. On the evening of the event, he showed up promptly and even had some extra mixers I had forgotten to pick up myself. The smoking cloche was a huge hit!

I surprised my partner with a bartender for a small birthday gathering with close friends, and I cannot imagine a better experience that what we had with Emerald City Cocktails. Pre-planning - They were super responsive! I gave them a menu of drinks that we wanted to offer (12 different cocktails), and they sent me a shopping list which was easy to take to the store. They were super responsive the entire process. Day Of - They arrived about an hour before the event with their portable bar. The bar was awesome! It felt like we had a real bar in the house. Chris was our bartender, and he was great! Friendly, knowledgeable, easy to work with! We will ask for him again next time. They set up a tent sign with the drink menu which was super cute! The drinks were all fabulous. We had small group, but it was special to be able to do this given that social gatherings are very limited. Chris was masked the whole time and everyone felt safe! Highly recommend!

Neil was our bartender for the event and he did a great job. After the event I talked to all of our guests and one of the highest point of the event was our bartender. Neil served really delicious drinks and helped us to organize the event and clean it up after it was done.
With him at the bar I was not worry about serving drinks to guests. and it seems like that everyone was really happy with the service. We had our own bar but Neil has the full bar with all the glasses that is necessary for serving people.
He was really fast and very precise in serving drinks, I saw a lot of people who had mojito in their hand and even though I don't like mojito, but the way he decorated drinks encouraged me to get mojito.
Overal I am really happy with him and will invite him over for our next event.

He bartended for my company holiday/curling party and managed to make the most important part of the party (booze) the least stressful part of the entire process. He helped me brainstorm for a customized menu and then, given a list of drinks I wanted to serve, broke everything down into a list what I needed to buy and what he would supply - having someone tell me how much of everything to buy to get us through the event saved me SO much time! Communication beforehand was clear and I always got quick responses to even my silliest questions. He brought all of the equipment we needed and his positive attitude didn't even break when we discovered that all of the heavy equipment needed to be carried up two flights of stairs (sorry!)

Neil was flexible, even offering to run errands and pick up supplies. He served around 70 people for three hours non-stop. He was so humble and kind at the event and such a great bartender. Thanks Neil!
