Grateful Band is a band of performers committed to excellence in music. They perform original songs, as well as popular, jazz, rock, soul, country, Americana, folk, reggae, funk, and Motown. The size of the band can be from two to 10 musicians and singers, depending on price. Core members of the band are on radio internationally, and have performed with major acts and written music for major recording artists. The band works for weddings and private events of all types throughout California (particularly the Motherlode area of California gold country). The lead singer of the band, is a three time award winning singer, and was voted "Best Singer" of the Motherlode area.

Alex Kash is a solo performer, and the band leader for Grateful. They perform original songs, as well as popular, jazz, rock, soul, country, americana, reggae and motown. This is an all talent, no tracks band consisting of two to 10 or more players depending on price. Alex Kash is a singer/songwriter who has written music for radio, tv, dance, and theater. His wide musical interests influence the band to bring the very best talent and mood to every event. This is both a band to listen to, and to dance to. Smooth and talented vocals, and musical expertise. The band may include, guitar, bass, drums, horns, keyboard, or other arrangements as necessary for the event.
Alex Kash is a registered Native American (Tlingit, Aleut, and Russian heritage) who is a recognized Thunderbeing by medicine men. He is a multi-platinum songwriter and three time award winning singer who has 10 CD's of original music.
He also worked in some of the world's most famous recording studios on projects with or for major artists including: Van Morrison, Sly Stone, Pablo Cruise, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Dan Fogelberg, John Fogerty, Scream, Mark Isham, Delbert McClinton, Syreeta, Wright, Enzo Avitabile, Tim Weisberg, Narda Michael Walden, Tower of Power, Dire Straits, Maria Muldaur, Tom Johnston (Doobie Brothers), Grace Slick, Marty Balin, Pat Thrall, Nate Ginsberg, Larry Graham, Raz Kennedy, Lenny Pickett, Greg Allman and Cher among others.
Alex wrote songs for Pat Travers "Crash and Burn" album/CD, and Journey's "Look Into The Future" album/CD.
Inspired by the Beatles, Bob Dylan, and Motown, Alex first became a professional musician at the age of 13, and soon released his first record with (his band, Fever) a single release called, "Lazy" backed with "A Stone Shame", both of which were played on the San Francisco radio station, KSAN. Recording fame came later though, with "She's Not There", a song Alex recorded solo on the island of Capri off the coast of Italy, which became a dance hall hit and is now on the collector's circuit.
Alex is recognized in "Who's Who in America" for his classical composition, "Transitions" for ballet.
Almost equally dividing his time between work in numerous bands, and his solo career, Alex has performed on The Cow Palace stage (that once held the Beatles), and (Bill Graham's ) Winterland Arena.

Alex has written music for radio, film, tv, dance, and theatre, but he is most noted for his long span of music that respects the sacredness of the environment and nature, and his spiritual relationship with all of God's creation, performing live to heal the world.
Alex has recorded many CDs with just his voice, a 12-string guitar, and occasional harmonica.
Alex is also avidly interested in permaculture and planting trees, working with city tree boards, to put thousands of trees in the ground, and into the hands of low income home owners.
Alex Kash regularly performs live solo or with bands and is currently involved with the Rod Harris Jazz Band, and has performed live with three time Grammy Nominee, Barbara Morrison, Elaine Gibbs, Paul Contos, Mic Gillette, and others.
