I provide classical guitar music, ranging from Renaissance pavanes to Bach preludes, romantic barcarolles to Spanish & Latin American danzas, plus a selection of Great American Songbook and Beatles tunes that everyone at your event will appreciate. I've played at weddings & other events (corporate openings, parties of all sorts) for more than 25 years and have built a reputation for virtuosity & musicality. I can arrange music especially for your event and I also play with other instruments (should you want guitar & flute or guitar & violin, etc.).

For background music situations (weddings, etc.) I arrive 15 min. ahead of the event start. My set-up is easy & quick (position chair, amplifier & music stand where intended). If an event planner has coordinated details of the event with me, I have it all in writing and follow as determined. Takedown & exit is unobtrusive.
Dress is determined by client: tuxedo, suite & tie, or more casual.
Specific musical selections are chosen in consultation with me.
The son of professional classical musicians, I had years of piano lessons as a child and then switched my interest to the guitar, at first folk & rock. In high school I began to study the classical guitar with noted cellist/conductor/guitarist Luis Garcia-Renart. I received my Performance degree from the New England Conservatory of Music and early in my career did masterclasses with such celebrated classical guitarists as Manuel Barrueco, Eliot Fisk, Frederic Hand, Sharon Isbin and Christopher Parkening.
I have taught guitar & music subjects for many years at the college level (SUNY Ulster, SUNY New Paltz and Bard) as well as privately at Allegro Music, Barcone's and at my home studio. I've had the opportunity to play several of the guitar's great concertos (by Villa-Lobos, Vivaldi, and Rodrigo) with orchestra and I've worked with many ensembles and individual musicians & singers over the years, including the Woodstock Chamber Orchestra, Pone Ensemble, Hudson Valley Philharmonic, Ars Choralis, Hudson Valley Recital Project, etc. and I've been a member of: Trio Con Brio/Arabesque Trio, Interlude/Cantilena, Catskill Mt. Renaissance Consort, SAGAD Trio, and SUNY Ulster Guitar Ensemble (most of these groups I've arranged the music for too). I'm a founding member of the Mid-Hudson Classical Guitar Society and president of the Woodstock Chamber Orchestra. I've also played in music theatre shows and rock/pop bands over the years, as my musical interests are quite broad. I also teach Fu Jow Pai kung fu in Woodstock, NY!

Jazz musicians include: Dave Brubeck, Mike Mainieri, John McLaughlin, Chick Corea, John Pizzarelli.
I need sufficient lighting to see my instrument and music on a music stand. I often discreetly amplify my instrument so need acess to an electrical outlet (or I use a battery-powered amplifier). I need an armless chair (not a stool).
