Baskin is incredibly dynamic; one moment she's breathing life into a lovelorn ballad, the next she's burning a fiery swing. And late at night as the light gets low, Hale can make your ears burn with the most suggestive blues you'll ever hear.
The Jazz Addiction specializes in jazz of all eras, from the stompin' swing of the 1920's through the groove jazz of the 60's and beyond. The versatility of these musicians enables them to transition seamlessly from jazz to hard-hitting soul, funk, Motown, and R&B.
Hale Baskin and Her Jazz Addiction filled the room with incredible sound! The song selection was perfect. They started with a little jazz trio while we were going through the buffet line, and then when we were ready, they really hit us with the whole band and Hale's voice. We were at Union Station in Dallas in a big room, but they filled the room and were so good!
They were flexible with what we needed. They were a great show, for sure!

Working with Hale was quite easy. As an Event Planner I sometimes stress a little too much but Hale and her band were always there to answer a question and put my mind at ease. Hale and her band arrived with more than enough time to set and do a sound check so that was one last thing I needed to follow up on.
Hale and her band were professional and sounded great. They took direction really well and were very low maintenance. They are very talented and played some of my favorite songs. Hales voice is absolutely beautiful too. I would hire them again in a heart beat!

I chose Hale after I saw that she has a LOT of positive reviews on another site. I wanted a jazz band that could play soul and dance music, not a cover band that "plays jazz", and wow did they deliver! Every guest was blown away, I cannot say enough good things about the music.
Hale was super flexible and easy to work with leading up to the party. They played beautiful classic jazz and swing at first, and as the night got going the music became more and more current and people danced their butts off! Will have her back to play jazz at our 1920's holiday party! Highly recommended, worth every penny.

Hale and her band arrive in plenty of time to set up before the start of the event and are always dressed appropriately for the occasion. They provide their own sound system which is available for guest use upon request. They can accommodate any musical request if given at least a day ahead of time, and although the jazz and soul are their primary genres, they can play nearly any style of music from classical to country.

Hale Baskin is endowed with a clear, beautiful voice, a sure sense of swing, and a seemingly innate sense of the nuances of Jazz phrasing. She moves effortlessly from channeling the songbirds of the 1940's Big Bands to Ella Fitzgerald-inspired Jazz favorites, all the way to Motown, soul, and down-home blues. Performing professionally for over 10 years, Hale has a bio which could be attributed to an entertainment veteran twice her age. By the time she had her nineteenth birthday, Hale was awarded three Down Beat Magazine Awards for Student Jazz performances, recorded two full length CD's, performed with such notables as Arturo Sandoval, the Count Basie Orchestra, and the Mike Vax Big Band, and led her own ensemble-- booking venues in four western states.
Hale is now offering her talent in Texas to anyone who wishes to make their event a guaranteed success. She has has always held a 5 star rating on several booking sites.
