Elijah Nelson is a musician, composer and producer in DFW who has worked in the local music industry for over 10 years and has more than 7 years experience teaching private lessons in Classical, Acoustic and Electric Guitar, Double Bass and Electric Bass; as well as Ukulele and Cello. Having lived for music ever since he was a child and teaching himself guitar at the age of 10, his parents realized the significant interest he had in music and encouraged him to play an instrument once in middle school. Choosing the cello as his first instrument, his knowledge of music quickly grew. After only a year of playing, Elijah was asked if he’d like to play Double Bass instead, as all the other players had gone into high school, and they were in need of someone to hold down that section of the music. Desiring to do something new, he picked up the bass and never looked back.

Fast forward a few years and Elijah was in college pursuing a degree in music at Richland College and Collin College, studying many different styles of music as well as record production, composition and arranging. Having finished studies at community college, Elijah then attended Dallas Baptist University to finish his degree in Music Business, with an emphasis in Classical Guitar and Recording Engineering. While finishing his undergraduate program, he was involved in playing in several musical groups around Dallas, playing anything from rock and hip/hop to worship music and classical.

Playing professionally for the last 10+ years, Elijah has gathered much experience in many styles of music and can tailor lessons to whatever the student is most interested in learning. No student is like another and no one can foresee exactly what someone will excel at until they’re actually giving it a try.
