I've had the privilege of seeing Jesenia perform at multiple venues and competitions; each time, she captivates her audience. She transports her spectators as she journeys through each song, threading together a history, a message and entertainment to make her art. She's able to walk the fine line between being prepared with tricks and choreography, while tailoring her performances to the crowd, even improvising moves and interactions. It's always amazing to watch, and I can't wait to see her preform again!

Hello Verrina, Thank you for the kind review. My mother was a dancer and my teacher, so I was not exactly self taught :) I have studied since I was 8 years. There may have been some confusion since I did not study under a studio.
I have seen Jesenia perform multiple times and I can confirm she is an award winning dancer. She is also a talented teacher. Jesenia makes dancing look effortless and inspires her audience. She is highly professional and she would be the perfect addition to special events. If you get a chance to take a class she is teaching, most definitely do it! Jesenia is based out of Jacksonville, FL. Her performances tell a story of discovery and preservation that are often described as captivating and dynamic. She began her dance journey at the age of 5, learning and dancing Puerto Rican Folk dances. At 8, she was introduced to North African and Levant dances. She fell in love with the dance, music, and culture immediately, and began her endless pursuit for education in Middle Eastern arts.
Captivated by history and art that was created due to Arab and African Diaspora, Jesenia continued her studies at the University of Florida to explore the idea of cultural identity in the United States. In 2015, she received a Bachelor of Fine Art with a focus on interdisciplinary art. Since her graduation, Jesenia has taught dance workshops throughout the U.S., and appeared as a guest lecturer at Full Sail University in 2017 and 2019.
