I am going to take you on a journey through a bad neighborhood; my mind. It is not a place you want to travel alone, so bring a friend. I will do my best to lighten the load with funny stories from my life as a drunk and drug addict (of which there are many). Then I hope to take you all the way through to the other side where we will leave the darkness (and it gets really dark) and enter the light. So, let’s get started on this journey, shall we?
I have had the blessed opportunity to hear Mike speak on different occasions and have seen the impact his words and message have had on his audiences. Mike has a gift for captivating his audiences regardless of age or gender, and sending a powerful message in a way that is moving and relatable at the same time. John Michael Weber has done it again with his latest book, The Unholy Trinity, Me, Myself and I. It is the follow-up to From Junk to Jesus. The books chronicle Weber's lifelong struggle with addiction and eventual recovery. He is heartbreakingly candid about his drug and alcohol usage and the depths it took him to, yet, the books bring hope to those who have an addiction or love someone who does. Either voulume would be a treasure for any reader, both for the humor and vulnerability Weber projects in his writing and for the hopeful story of grace that his life demonstrates. Having heard John Michael Weber speak, as well, I can attest that his speaking style is equally engaging. Weber is an amazing man with an amazing life story. Whether you read it or hear him speak, his is a story that needs to be heard.
I completed "The Unholy Trinity Me, My self and I" this morning. As a parent of a teen prodigal still yet to reach redemption, I ached for Mike's Dad. However, I rejoice in Mike's recovery and praise God for keeping Mike alive to share his story and ministry with others. God has great things in store for those who meet this prodigal, Mike Weber. His book is extremely personable. It is impossible to not root for Mike as he makes the wrong choices and finally a great celebration for his salvation. This book is the story grand and memorable movies are made from. Mike's brutal truth about his life and recovery gives addicts and their families hope and promise.
Mike has an uncanny ability to involve an audience with his sincerity, honesty,encouragement and expertise. He brings experience and knowledge to every presentation and is convincing with his insights and attitudes.
I heard Mike speak to homeless people at the Helping Up Mission in Baltimore. He spoke with such empathy and compassion from being where they were the men listened and connected with him. He is really an outstanding speaker. I have heard him speak several times since and have been amazed at how he touches people. He offers a window into a life I have never known and would not appreciate except for his eloquent stories of his experiences. I read his first book and ordered his second and he is just as articulate in print as he is in person. I hardily recommend him as a speaker and writer. He can bring people into the life of the homeless, addicted and hopeless the way no others can because he lived it.

John Michael Weber, born May 14, 1958. Raised in Houston, Texas and moved to Columbia, Maryland in 1977. Married February 15, 1984, 2 daughter's Lindsey born August 16, 1984 and Lauren March 27, 1986.
Picked up a drink at age 13, needle in his arm by 15, ended years of abuse on heroin on November 19, 2001. Followed Christ ever since along with meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous. Founded IBE Ministries, Inc. in 2007. Graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology/Addictions and a Master of Arts in Addiction & Family Counseling. Author of 6 books concerning Addiction and Creator of "Yes My Kid" a program for parents and loved ones of those caught in the abyss of addiction.
Currently residing in Austin, Texas I have a wonderful relationship with my 2 daughters and even my ex-wife. God has Blessed me and I believe, better stated I know, that I am to do my best to carry the message of the Good News of Christ and share my time, testimony and gifts with those in need of deliverence from drugs.
