Kevin Metzger - Guitarist

Born in 1993 in Syracuse, NY music has always been the defining aspect of Kevin Metzger’s life. Raised at concerts and in record shops Kevin began playing electric guitar at age 11 and by 15 was playing in bars and venues in and around Central New York with his original rock band. At the end of high school Kevin fell in love with the music and style of the classical guitar, attaining a Bachelors in Music Performance from Syracuse University in 2015. He then went on to the prestigious New England Conservatory where he studied with world-renowned guitar virtuoso Eliot Fisk and his protege, the masterful pedagogue Dr. Jerome Mouffe. While at NEC Kevin was also awarded both a Performance and Teaching fellowship as part of the Conservatory’s Community Performances and Partnerships program. Kevin graduated with his Masters in 2017 and is now is based in Boston where he uses his skill and fluidity to navigate between his love of all music from classical and jazz to pop and rock in a way that continues to captivate and move audiences.

As a performer Mr. Metzger is at home in the worlds of popular, jazz, and classical music, able to provide a wide range of unique and varied experiences for audiences. As an educator Mr. Metzger has been teaching both guitar and piano since he was in High School. He has taught privately and has also been on faculty for the Greater Syracuse School of Music, The Music Tree of Boston, and Keys for Kids, as well as teaching guitar programs for Boston Public Schools.
