We will dress accordingly from casual to tuxedos. Just specify your concerns to us about your event, and we'll take care of those concerns. All of us are consumate professional musicians and entertainers.
It all started when Dave Christianson quit elementary school to accept an offer from the CBS television network to fill a technical position working
on their popular “Sing Along With Mitch” Miller program as the reverberation device operator as applied to the ever-present harmonica accompaniment to Mitch’s men’s chorus. Though legally just a youth, Dave had to “ride gain” on the then state-of-the-art plate reverberator and simultaneously ride a crude stationary bicycle as to provide DC power to the fore-mentioned unit. Impressed, both IATSE & SMPTE organizations accepted Dave as a junior member of their trade organizations.
After each rehearsal & weekly live broadcast, Dave would tag along with some of the other CBS stagehands as they took the subway to Harlem where they would frequent “Small’s Paradise” to enjoy jazz & cocktails. Even though Dave was well underage, he did act enough like an adult to fool the Maitre’D & coat check girls. There Dave met the great Billy Eckstein, to whom Dave did demonstrate his talents as a singer, drummer, tap dancer & comedian. Impressed, Mr. Eckstein immediately took young Dave under his wing & taught him about show business, getting Dave hired at Small’s as a novelty performer, since no one had ever seen an 8-year-old white child sing “I’m In The Mood For Love”, play “Drum Boogie”, dance to up-tempo bebop numbers, & spout forth blue anecdotes in front of a mixed crowd.
Dave’s enjoyed a long & illustrious career, having nowadays returned to Washington State from his previous residence in Texas. Dave’s newest venture is the band Square Wave Dave, which features the innovative bassist & electronic surveillance researcher Dr Steve Kim, guitarist & the regional marketing manager for Schweppes, Cmdr Mytch Meadows USCG(Ret), & pianist-organist-keyboardist Rev Jeffrey Goodman, an ordained minister for the Church of the Snazarene. Dave & his band Square Wave Dave perform their own specific brand of soulful but syncopated renditions of blues & soul favorites that everyone likes, as well as presenting Dave’s weirdly cool original compositions, also strongly favored by everybody.
Despite the fact that the vast majority of talent scouts & venue operators don’t know what’s good for them, the Square Wave Dave Band has proven to be a crowd-pleasing favorite throughout the great State of Texas, the great Province of British Columbia, and in New Jersey. Although this groundbreaking musical juggernaut is in constant demand, Dave will from time to time entertain offers for club dates, casuals, festivals, & religious rituals.
We can bring our own sound and lighting equipment, or work with a hired staging company. Instrumentation is a typical drum set, guitar amp mic-ed, bass amp with direct box, keyboards sub-mixed with direct box, four monitors, only one vocalist who is the drummer, and the drummer will supply his own special microphone.
